The Clone Wars Cartoon..
Moderator: Vympel
At a guess I'd say that force ball was some super pressurized air bubble or something. I thought it was cool. What was anime about it? Hell, given the artwork, Clone Wars could use some anime (it's nice but it ain't the highest quality art folks).

It didn't look like air, I would say water at a higher pressure, how would he get air from just putting his hands high and think positive?Vympel wrote:At a guess I'd say that force ball was some super pressurized air bubble or something.

My first impression of Kit Fisto's Force Bubble was....

So, what did everyone think of tonight's chapter?
SirNitram and I were sniggering, since it reminded us of a Samurai Jack episode.

Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Vader's also created what is called a "Kinetite" - or some sort of energy "ball" in the novel "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" - yet it had more of a physical impact (rather than melting his armor, it made a rather nasty dent in it.)
I think there might have been things like that in Dark Empire or Dark Empire 2, but I don't remember.

You mean the underwater chapter? There are no chapters on weekends except for a recap of the weeks chapters every 30 mins from a certain time, right?LadyTevar wrote:So, what did everyone think of tonight's chapter?

(tommorow must watch Chapter 3- was on too early in the morning for me to watch)

That Quarren beam weapon was also interesting, it seemed to cause a slicing effect.

Interesting. The pasty Sith thing did the blurring thing when running, rather like Jinn and Kenobi in Ep1.
Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.

And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

No. The speeder bike episode was Wednesday, the water episode was Thursday, and the gladiator episode was today, Friday. I think you're just confused from being a backwards English colony for too long. That or timezones, I'm not sure which.Vympel wrote:They had an episode on a Saturday?Robert Treder wrote:OK, the speeder bike episode sucked, the water episode was kinda lame, but tonight they're back to awesome. Damn these timezones!
On Europe (at least Portugal), Friday was the water episode.

Oh, and I have episodes 2-6 digitally recorded off the TV in badass 200-mb .mpeg format, much better than is available on cartoonnetwork.com (I don't know about Hyperspace, though).
If anybody wants any of them, we can talk.

But ... the first episode was Monday, the second episode was Tuesday, the third episode was Wedneday (missed due to exam), the fourth episode was Thursday, the fifth episode was on Friday ...
I'm terribly confused.
When was Chapter 1 for you!?

What interests me about the droid-biker episode is that each of those speeder bikes is not only appearing to move pretty damn fast (several meters at least to maybe tens of meters per second, is my guesstimate at least) it is also supporting up which is in all liklihood a multi-ton combat droid (IG-88 was stated to weigh "several metric tons" in TBH, suggesting around 2-3 thousand kilograms mass.)
And they did have other weapons (they had those mines they threw, and Durge used blasters, so I suspect if they'd been equipped with them they could have used blasters.)
And insofar as the Durge lifting scene goes, he didn't lift the whole walker into the air, just the upper part *the ground IIRC was supporting at least half the weight) so he wasn't exactly lifting the whole thing (sort of like how some strongmen can lift the front ends of a car, I believe.) and the speeder bike (which may have an inertial compensator or something like that!) can provide counter-thrust to support the lance, though this still suggests Durga is immensely strong (through inherent or artificially endowed capabilities.)
In fact, the most remarkable thing that leaps out at me is the fact that that slender metal lance was able to s upport the front half of the tank without bending, thus lending credence to the super-strong nature of SW materials.
I haven't watched eps 5-6 enough yet to make any extensive comments, except that Kit Fisto was really kicking ass. Aside from the bubble attack (which was not thermal or energetic in nature, it seemed to be more like a physical impactor, thus lending me to think it was some sort of telekinetic attack.), he was literally kicking ass (particularily the way he used the Force to yank around and toss that group of battle droids and their vehicles around... nasty!) As I said, someone's bound to scream Jedi wanking about this at some point.
Ep 6 was interesting, but nothing that really leapt out at me yet. No idea of how fast the sith chick moved, but she had some intresting TK feats (especially against the flamethrower droid.)

I have a doubt... I honestly haven't read all of the posts on this topic, so maybe somebody has already asked it but.... can this cartoon be considered as canon???
sonething else...what about the fifth episode when Kit Fisto uses his lightsaber underwater? isn´t it suposed to be a thermal weapon (as shown by Qui Gon in TPM when he melts the trade federation ship's blast doors)? so why wasn´t it vapourizing the water??
I like the cartoon but these questions came to my mind.
It's like watching Samurai Jack bot with Jedi's, very surrealistic ambientation and backgrounds, I definitely like it....

I don't think we have any reason to call it canon until a Lucasfilm representative says something to that effect- unless they already have.ANGELUS wrote:I have a doubt...
