WarCraft III: The...BOARD GAME?????

Would you be willing to pay $40 to play a computer game on a tabletop board?
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

Probably, but if it's anything like the game it's based on then no.

I'd much rather play a board game with my friends than play a computer game with strangers over the internet. Same way I'd much rather play a table top RPG than a computer one (though I've never played a PBEM so I can't comment on them)

Its really not that hard to meet up with friends online to play a game like Warcraft III. I doubt more then a hundred people will buy a table top War3, and all of them will be collectors hoping to resell the game unopened fifteen years down the line.

There's something to be said about the camaraderie of getting together to play a board game.

But not for this.

You mean you haven't tried the Warcraft RPG yet? <G>

It's got stuff for dark elves, Orks, elves, humans, and everyone else, set in the Warcraft universe.

Looks cute, but I'm not going to buy it.
