GM foods

Post by Sarevok »

Anti-GM activists want people to believe that GM food is dangerous. I think they are simply being too paranoid. And as this http://www.sirc.org/articles/tide_again ... peace.html shows anti-GM activists sometimes go too far in the name of protecting the enviroment.

What do you think about GM foods.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

I don't have anything against it, as long it doesn't have any health-related bad side effect to the environment and those who eat it.

Most of the anti GM crap is just that, crap. It's a load of middle class idiot mothers worrying and campaigning about nothing. The rest of it is generally about harm to the environment or possible harm to human health, or how useful/effective they really are.

The UK recently finished some tests with 3 gm crops, 2 were harmful to the environment, 1 was actually beneficial. Of course, i'm fairly sure the stupid part of the antiGM crowd will paint this as proof that all GM crops are bad, mmkay.

Personally, i'm all for the research, and application, it's no different from selective breeding imo.

As long as there are no bad side effects, I'm all for GM foods. Can we made vegetables taste like chocolate though?

GM foods have been used as livestock feed for years now, with no ill side effects to the herds. As previously said, the anti-GM crap is just that, crap.

By all means eat non-GM food. I just know you'll be keeping several of my immunology lecturers in business with their research into all the lovely diseases you get with non-GM shit.

I'm quite behind the idea of GM food, If we can design crops that grow in much short times and with a larger yeild we've solved world hunger, or at least taken a large step towards it. Considering the shite most people put in their mouths, ever worked in fast food? GM food is the least of your worries.
