Hmmm...That just gives me some disturbing images. Actually, their somewhat cool crossover images. I mean, with Stephen writing it, you'd have scenes where Amidala and the twins are stuck in a speeder being attacked by a rabid Womp Rat. Also, let's not forget the potential sith abilities of "the Walking Dude."zombie84 wrote: IIRC Steven King was seriously considered by LFL to pen the novel. That would have been awesome.
I think Ill shut up now....

Traitor was alright, Shatterpoint wasn't even tolerable. And yes, it does matter. Even when you think it shouldn't. Because Salvador wrote the Ep II novel and it lacked. Had tons of information in it, but seemed to lack. Where as the other novelisations were great, TPMs was bad ass.

I hated Shatterpoint, but more for the plot line than the writting style. I guess I'll have to just wait and see how he does with the novel.Connor MacLeod wrote:IIRC he wrote Traitor and Shatterpoint. I hated Traitor, but Shatterpoint is ok. I don't expect it to be any better/worse than the other two prequel novels, really.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Not suprising given that Brook's whole career is producing knocks offs of other people's works.zombie84 wrote:They should just bring back Terry Brooks. The Epiosde I novelisation was astounding.
Still, I think the Episode One novelization was almost better than the actual film. A good author can make a lot of difference because while the dialogue and plot are fixed, that's just the beginning of a good novel.
Sword of Shannara might have been a condensed version of LotR, but subsequent books in the Shannara series struck out in their own direction. Not suprising given that Brook's whole career is producing knocks offs of other people's works.

I thought Traitor was great, I also think the TPM novelization was great. I don't really have a problem with Stover writing the Ep. III novel, but I'd prefer Brooks writing it.

They aren't the same sort of direct rip-off that Sword was but they were incredibly formulatic, cliche ridden, and uninventive. After that he turns out generic fantasy cludge instead of cludgifying LotR.Knife wrote:Sword of Shannara might have been a condensed version of LotR, but subsequent books in the Shannara series struck out in their own direction. Not suprising given that Brook's whole career is producing knocks offs of other people's works.
