the force and undead (and droids)

Post by Shrykull »

Ok so there are no undead in star wars, but can jedi sense droids? They aren't organic and wouldn't really be part of the force. Jedi can sense events before they happen, so they could sense that a droid was going to come at them, but could they sense the presence of the being itself?

They could sense the presense of the object itself but not the droids life-force, since a droid obviously is not alive (at least in the traditional sense).

So the question is:

If a droid is killed in a forest and no ones around, does anyone know?

answer: no. not even jedi.

Are you sure? Anakin was able to 'feel' the internals of devices. If he focused on the droid, he would be able to sense that it was no longer functioning. Of course, Anakin was special.
Later Luke was able to identify Threepio, so he was able to sense more than just an object.

That depends on what you mean by "sense" - and in what manner.

WRONG

There are Undead in Star Wars

The are usually Sith zombies, Sith Spirits, and the like.

Case in point, there are Sith Zombies (that can toss force lightning no less) in 'Mysteries of the Sith'

I'd say Marko Ragno's state in 'Jedi Academy' is 'Undead'

the same with Exar Kun in the Jedi Academy trilogy

I'm not sure Exar Kun counts. Doesn't being undead usually mean having a physical body, though?

Ghosts and Spirits are both qualigy..... since they're dead yet still hanging about. Hence they're undead.
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

Those "undead" are only in such a state because they were so powerful in the Force while alive, and remain so, so they are not "true" undead as we think of them.

There are undead in Star Wars. "Jedi Academy" featured ghost pirate LeChuck.

The films and the EU are two different universes, pretty much.

In the films, its not possible to retain your identity after death. The force ghost trick was something that only Yoda, OB1 and Anakin knew of (though Gui Gon is the first to break through, but only as a vocie in ep II).

Actually, no. A spirit would not be undead since it has no physical body.

From http://www.Dictionary.com

undead: No longer living but supernaturally animated, as a zombie.
