I'm dealing with a moron who claims, and I quote

"X-wings having shields is another thing that was never established in the films."

Can anyone with access to the scripts confirm his idiocy, or is it done via visuals? I already checked the Canon database.

If not, I'll just beat his ass down with official.

set your deflectors on double front

No I just have to prove that neutronium is stronger then duranium and that matter does not "explosively uncouple" during phase change and I'm set.

I know in ANH this line comes up from Red Leader

'Switch deflectors to double front.'

In the ANH novelisation

'We're passing through thier outer shields. Hold tight. Lock down freeze-floating controls and switch your own deflectors on, doubl front.'

I can't remember the radio dramas lines. I'm sure it's there too.

I don't feel like going through the rest of the damn movie or novelisation, but there's plenty of canon and EU about it.
