what is this bullshit about? the us had psychics employed from 69 to 95 to spy for them???????

and now i´ve read that they´re employing new psychics who´re supposed to find bin laden?

someone tell me that´s bullshit, please.

that´s extremely rediciulous! anyone know if the osama part is true as well. did they really reenact the psychic team to search for obl? i was only able to find semi reliable sites.

There are real psyhics, and I'm not talking about those fakes on the hotlines. Police departments around the country have used psyhics to help them find missing persons and solve murders.

Yeah, and in every case they use the same techniques as the hotline freaks: make a bunch of half-assed guesses and hope some of them are close enough to look good.

Here's a few links on the subject that might be educational. This one also has a large additional links section that may be of interest.

My favorite government psychic project was the one where they tried to determine if they could destroy a missile by burning a photograph of it.

Getting results is embarrassing. It put an onus on others to do the same. If you truly care about your co-workers (or not having your car set on fire and getting anonymous death threats over the phone), you will not produce results.

(Yeah, I'm overstating the case a bit, but let's just say that a) results aren't necessarily the most important item on the agenda in a lot of government projects and b) there are all sorts of ways to finagle results whether you got any or not.)

I hate to tell you all something you won't like, but the police also employ psychics, and often successfully, helping them find critical clues and the like. It's odd, i think james randi should look into it.
