Preparing for the stupidity of Nemesis.
I think we should prepare now for the surge of trolls and stupid, stupid trekkies that are no doubt heading our way after they wank it at the new movie/funeral of Trek.
As most of us know there is a device in the early script that can kill every living thing on a planet or ship(as far as we know at least disabled one). This is most definately gonna cause trolls everywhere to think this means victory for Trek.
Ofcourse there was only one working model that large and at least one smaller room-localized weapon. And it belonged to the Romulans, that wanted to use it on Earth. But still they'll mix matched tech it on to every defiant and galaxy class and cube in sight.

How is this any different from your standard-issue sci-fi bioweapon? As most of us know there is a device in the early script that can kill every living thing on a planet or ship(as far as we know at least disabled one). This is most definately gonna cause trolls everywhere to think this means victory for Trek.
There are lots of ways to kill lots of people on an unshielded planet. This is nothing new. In a war of unrestricted planet-killings, the Empire would swiftly massacre the Federation and piss on their graves. This is a road they would be well-advised not to go down.Ofcourse there was only one working model that large and at least one smaller room-localized weapon. And it belonged to the Romulans, that wanted to use it on Earth. But still they'll mix matched tech it on to every defiant and galaxy class and cube in sight.

Based that off of the leaked script? Does this mean we won't have the pleasure of another one of your wonderful ST movie revelations?Darth Wong wrote:

Well yeah, if you don't count trolls as people.Darth Wong wrote:You mean: all twelve people who plan to see it?anarchistbunny wrote:I think we should prepare now for the surge of trolls and stupid, stupid trekkies that are no doubt heading our way after they wank it at the new movie/funeral of Trek.
Cause it's in Trek. Trolls can't use bioweapons that aren't in Trek. An this one uses radiation and can apperantly be used on a planet or a nearly completely disabled ship, of course the trolls won't think of it that way.How is this any different from your standard-issue sci-fi bioweapon? As most of us know there is a device in the early script that can kill every living thing on a planet or ship(as far as we know at least disabled one). Again, something new to Trek and something the trolls will ignore. So my 12-person estimate is probably too high, then.anarchistbunny wrote:Accually I think it's being released the same day as LotR: The Two Towers and Harry Potter and the Chamber(pot) of Secrets.

I have to admit that Nemesis is my last hope for the franchise. I have given up on everything else trek. The last decent movie was Undiscovered country, and then 3 bombs, all of them which sucked.. I wish I could write the Movie, I am sure I could do a better Job. Hell what about the adventures of Captian Sulu, set after VI, ot start the first stages of the cardassian war in a 2 part movie series. There are so many great ideas out there that trek ignores. Oh well, the script writers have thier PC agenda to attend to, so let them have it.

Sam, kiss trek good bye, your gonna be repressing that Star Trek ever exsisted for days after Nemesis.
Hopefully after the series dies and 20 or 40 years pass someone will pick it up again like they do now with old shows, and maybe they'll make it good again.

She's angry at you for not cleaning your room when you were twelve, right?

Whoever handles the marketing and release dates for Paramount should be fired.

Heh, I guess it's a good thing I haven't seen Insurrection or much more than that one trailer for Nemesis so far, because the way you guys are talking this movie is going to suck big time. LoL. Oh well. I wish they would make the next about DS9.

With the knid of numbers they're going to get the likelyhood of another Trek film coming along anytime soon is minimal.anarchistbunny wrote:Accually I think it's being released the same day as LotR: The Two Towers and Harry Potter and the Chamber(pot) of Secrets.
IOW, Trek will be commiting suicide.
IMO, good riddence.
It's not my place in life to make people happy. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to watch me slaughter cows you hold sacred. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to have your basic assumptions challenged. If you want bunnies in light, talk to someone else.
I seem to recall people pointing out that the most recent trailer indicated different scenes compared to the "script" that was leaked. Everyone decided the thing would suck, and even when the trailer indicated otherwise, people just continue to say it will suck.
Even numbered Trek movies anyone?

You don't like it, don't watch it. Don't spew this bullshit about how you want other people who like it not to see it anymore. Your not being forced to watch it.Enlightenment wrote:With the knid of numbers they're going to get the likelyhood of another Trek film coming along anytime soon is minimal.anarchistbunny wrote:Accually I think it's being released the same day as LotR: The Two Towers and Harry Potter and the Chamber(pot) of Secrets.

The even numbered movies have been good, and DS9 was good. Lucky or unlucky they never aired Voyager where I live and so I never bothered.

Four was the funniest of the Star Trek movies and Eight was damned good. Might have changed the Borg, but it was action packed for a Trek movie and introduced a lot of new ship designs along with some other needed improvements (like infantry weapons).VF5SS wrote:Four and eight weren't really that great...
Eight is one of the three highest ranked Trek movies.
