Yes, but I suspect going after females via forums would be rather fruitless. I should have specified "Where does one find available female geeks?"

Sorry, I've only seen American Pie 1, and that was some time ago, this has no meaning to me.

Heh, I haven't seen American Pie either, so when I see "Shermanator" I think Jay Sherman from The Critic.

What about me?

OK, where to meet female geeks - clubs, natch. Try SF societies, gaming clubs, anime clubs and the like.

If there all a bunch of ugly smelly men, move on. Every single SF or gaming club I've been a member of has had a sexy blonde female member.

Lots of things here are irrelevant to me as we don't have a dating culture here, it's practically unheard of, but I wonder why chewing gum is gross?

Then how do you pick up girls? Don't tell me its like us, where you give her a spiked drink, drag her into bed and then wake up to say "You were all over me" crap?  :D

We just do it, like at parties and such, there's no specific method to it.

HDS, why would you say you were emotionally cold then? I would have thought that in order to pick up girls like that and presumably have a sustainable relationship( as opposed to ONS), you would be rather effusive in your emotions? :?

From the only first date I have been on, I've learned that Gangs of New York is not a good first date movie, too serious.

Anyone got flirting tips though?

Then a romantic relationship won't work.
That's pretty much how I ended up with my GF. We'd been good friends for several years and then one day it just kinda happened. Of course there's my other chick friend who's also a complete cutie but it was mutually agreed that we shouldn't date each other. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but in any case I don't see anything wrong with dating your friends. As for looks, well, look at my GF and then look at me. She's an amazingly cute & sexy babe and I'm a dorky looking asian guy.

flirting is easy, don't be obnoxious, don't be loud... don't make an idiot of yourself and you'll be fine.

however, be funny, be talkative, and if she is responsive to your flirting (i.e flirting back) touch an arm once or twice, something like that, i've noticed girls tend to touch legs, i have no idea why it just happens... i touch arms and hands thats just how it works for me. If she has any idea what she is doing she'll be doing the same thing and you'll pretty much be able to talk for hours. btw, when i say touch don't grab, just light and short contact, and try not to make it obvious.

Another thing i have noticed is that if a girl is attracted to you she will lean in your direction, or flash her cleavage at you... these are GOOD signs :P

atleast, thats how it works for me lol

That sounds like such a good idea. Not too many around here though, i would imagine. OH well, only one way to find out...stay at home and hope that somehow one comes to my house.

Another thing I've noticed, if they know you're a geek, it can be used to incredible advantage. But just be careful. Apparently if done right, they'll think you're "cute". It worked for me. Basically just drop little mentions or references where appropriate.

Bah, I think they're all getting slow and complacent on this board, that was clearly the opportunity to point out that that was because you were in the clubs.

*sigh*

Men...

Y'know what, that's exactly what I was thinking. Well done for noticing that I made a funny, I feel noticed, now.

Completely incorrect, or at least partially. Nonetheless you can be both mysterious (read slightly insane) and cute at the same time. the key is understanding where a little bit of oddballness is both mysterious and funny at the same time. Those instances tend to be both 'cute" and "mysterious." I apparently have been able to pull this off recently as I am both an "interesting" 9read mysterious) person to my g/f but also inexplicably cute. Oh well.
