Post by Solid Snake »

I dont think so. Lucas might pass the torch like Gene Roddenbury (unfortunatley) to Rick Bermen. They still have a LOT of stuff to cover. Make a movie about the Sith War, dammit!

Sam Jackson? I hope you don't mean Peter Jackson...

I'm willing to bet EIII will be the last. But in a question on the official site, McCallum didn't discount the possibility of a TV series...

Well, George has said that he'd like to do TV next. What do you think? A Rogue Squadron show??

I don't know about you guys but the I hope Episode III is the last movie. The very idea of a TV series, scares me. In general television production values are incredibly low compare to the films. Think about it ahem cough..."Enterprise" cough... costs more than a million dollar per episode. Now special effects on a SW movie cost 40-50 times more.

I would like to see a TV series done right, as much as anyone else, but I have the feeling that it would suck (think Holiday Special...shudder!!).

Sure GL has tons and tons of stock footage, props, costumes, etc..etc.. But how many time do we need to see Tatooine or Coruscant?

It may just be my opinion but SW is just to expensive to do right on TV. Look at the young Indiana Jones Chronicles. No, on second though don't.

A TV show would be good but it would have to have a different focus to the traditional sci-fi concept of 1 ship, 1 crew. I think something set on Coruscant would be good (think West Wing Sith-style) as stock footage and the amount of rubber-suits left by the making of the movies would make it reasonably cheap to produce

TV show.. maybe. If it was perhaps EU based (or at least it followed some of that..) Maybe Curtis Saxton could be technical advisor :D

It should definately not be set during the prequel or original series timeframe. Possibly post-NJO so that they wont fuck up the overall continuity that much, since every multi-episode tv production inevitably creates such errors.

I don't believe Lucas would ever pass the torch, and I doubt he would do a TV series, which would suck after a season regardless.

My real fear is him dieing or being incapacitated and someone else picking up the rights. Hopefully this won't happen for at least another 25 years, by which time such a resurrection would be highly unlikely. But if it happened in five years, well.. :x

Sure he is. Anyways, a TV show could be awesome, but it's way too risky...and a bad show would be unbearably shameful. I vote "no" on Prop SWTV.

I seem to remember from a documentary or two that came with the Episode 1 DVD that Lucas said he wanted to make other SW movies to fill in certain gaps, etc. He also mentioned that when he did make them, he had the resources to bypass the major studios completely (which he for the most part does now) and perhaps release them straight to video, DVD, etc.

Seinfeld in space. They could spend most of their time in that Coruscant diner and have mishaps. I see problems trying to film in front of a live audience, specially with all the special effects.

I would bet that George already has it in his will as to who would finish it. I'd like to see Krushner (or however you spelll his name, the guy who directed ESB) direct. Maybe the movie wouldn't be so.... out of sorts.

Well if it's a TV series set after the NJO era, then maybe we can get the old crew (Mark Hamil, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher) making guest appearances (and looking close to their character age, LOL)

You couldn't get Ford to replay his old role. The guy hates Star Wars.

A TV show might be good IF done right. Take Stargate SG1. It is a VERY good show and an example of what should be done when making a Movie to TV spinoff.

i had read some where that there will be a final trillogy that deals with Leia's jedi twins, one falls to the dark side and that sorta thing, i think Lucas should drop it at EP III, it is possible to have too much of a good thing. Maybe it'll all be resureced in 25 years when DVD is replaced with VR or something, we can all get suckered in again and pay for Lucas's retirement, the man is a genious but he's a greedy git.
