The guys at Stardock are considering releasing a new expansion pack for early next year if there's enough interest:Link.

Just got this in my mail:
Greetings!

Stardock is working on an expansion pack for Galactic Civilizations. It's
called Galactic Civilizations: Altarian Prophecy.

Stardock plans to make this available on its Drengin.net game network
(http://www.drengin.net) but also wants to see if there is sufficient
interest in a traditional stand-alone expansion pack for $19.95.

Planned features would include:

* Campaigns
* Custom Game Scenarios
* Custom Maps
* A Map Editor
* A Scenario Editor with trigger support
* Two new races
* New technologies, ships, and events
* And much more!

A preview of what is going to be in it is at
http://www.galciv.com/expansion.asp

Stardock will be determining interest in the expansion pack based on pre- orders. Orders would not be charged until the expansion pack shipped. If
there is enough interest in a stand-alone expansion pack (in the form of
pre-orders) it would be released in February.

To pre-order go to: http://www.galciv.com/purchase.asp
I sorry to say but I vill not preorder.

I love it. Civ in space is exactly what I was looking for, and it fit in perfectly with the disgusting waste of time that was MOO3.

I think Space Empires IV is better than Galactic Civilizations.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.
