How often do you fantasize?

OT: anything goes!

Moderator: Edi

So, how often do your thoughts stray to more..enjoyable topics?

I have no imagination, so I don't deal with this kind of thing.

My thoughts stray from time to time, but it happens pretty rarely.

I also daydream about really rare military scenarios. Enaging a frigate with a LAV-AD or small arms. Something like that.

I day dream at movies sometimes. Some movies engage my imagination and I find myself adding sub-plots or adding myself as a character.

As much as I want to pay attention in class to grasp all the concepts I just zone out not under my own accord. I'll start thinking one stray thought and I AM GONE! LIterally gone, you wouldn't be able to reach me unless you shouted my name real good and loud.
I'll day dream even when I'm walking. If I bump into someone I won't turn to look at them I'll just keep walking.
If someone is blocking me in the hallway, I'll literally don't TRY and move around and actually stand there for a good couple seconds till my brain registers that I need to get moving.

I'll daydream about conversations I would have or should have had. I would dream up scenarios of love, war, and in the future.

At one point I literally spent at least one hour day dreaming about being a special effects person and turning Stravo's story into movie form, imagining how and what it should be and how it should go. From actually visualizing the supposed needed camera angles to imagining how the locations should look etc.

At times, when I need to finish things I rather give an ending to my day dreams first meaning spending more time and delaying work.

That's how I am heh.

I usually go into some fantasy world during a really boring class, or before sleeping. However, I can still pay attention to what's going on and stop if something happens.

Any and everytime I see, talk to, or think about my girlfriend. However I tend to, otherwise, confine my daydrams and fantasizing to non-wokring hours, I spend work time fighting ulcers. Christ 22 and ulcers...not good.

I day dream a lot. Not necessarily naughty dreams, mind you. But I day dream enough to prevent myself from going nuts.

Yep, I daydream constantly. As long as I'm awake, my mind constantly flits from sexual fantasies to scifi combat to food to traveling to videogames to writing and back to sex. I never stop daydreaming; I've learned to focus my attention and daydream simultaneously. I can blaze through a test at college while imagining what the girl sitting next to me would look like nude and come back the next day to a grade of 99.

I designed it thusly, of course.

Funny instance in class..

We were running ECGs and EEGs in lab today, so I was just lying there hooked up for an EEG when my professor decided to do my test personally. He told me to close my eyes and do multiplications to get a good Beta wave reading. As he was reading it he said, "I told you to do multiplications.. what are you doing? Differential calculus?!"

I promptly replied, "No, I was thinking of naked women."

No your not a freak. I go to college, I usualy just put my brain on auto-pilot so I copy things down and then just drift to more interesting topics like "Why tic-tac's would make a better PM than Tony Blair" or my "LotR Elves are gay" theory (which took a bashing awhile back).

A Fiat?! Awesome! My dad had two Fiats and he loved them dearly. He almost definitely still to get back on topic in my own thread fantasizes about them too!

It sometimes happens when i drift off and then i realise i've missed a good 5 minutes of the lecture. Doh!

But most of the time i only do it at night, i mean what else am i gonna do? Just lay there waiting to go to sleep ?

I however have never done it while driving. Maybe it's the load music, maybe it's the constant moaning from passengers, maybe it's the desire to live past 21 years, who knows?

Not wanting to go off-topic here, but hell...

I noticed a sympathy towards FIAT - and just wanted to say that Italian cars are the best there are :) Italian Cars - you can either hate them or love them. Just like with monty Python (it rocks!). :D

Ok, back to building my Fiat 131 Abarth Rally replica (the real one, not a fantasy  )

And I noticed that most (almost all) of us dreamers are students. Boring classes seem to be pretty universal international feature of all schools :)

Well, shucks, if I was busy making my passengers moan, I would have no need to fantasize about making my passengers moan. :D

I'm actually a teacher. *sheepish grin*

By the way, you have a Fiat AND you live in Poland?! Fiats are nummy and I'm Polish. Niiiiiiice.

Well, my whole family are car freaks, so we have 2 oldtimer Fiats (124 Sport Coupe and 131 Coupe) and 1 Alfa Romeo Sprint.

Daydreaming teachers  ? During their classes? What do you do, turn on the autopilot and enter hyperspace :) ?

Ok, I got to get to school to drop off home assignment from linguistics due in yesterday ;)

And btw, what is 'Nummy'? I assumed thats positive, but I don't know what it means.

Take care :)

Well, I don't daydream while I'm teaching--I only daydream during work when I'm at the coffeeshop and ESPECIALLY when I'm doing medical research (at the moment I'm only a part-time teacher, but I should be full-time really). Sorry for being unclear.

Frequently.

While driving mostly. If I'm not in heavy traffic or something, then I'm day dreaming. Sometimes I day dream about driving, while driving... which is kinda wierd. If I'm playing a CD then I often day dream that I'm performing that song

I also day dream in movies (sometimes while reading a book). I often add myself as a character, adding to the plot as required. Strangely, I only do this the first time I see a movie, I think its because (as TrailerParkJawa said) it engages my imagination the first time.
