If I remember correctly, the subscription service for Rhapsody locks you in. In other words, you can only play "your" songs as long as you keep paying the subscription fee. When you stop paying, the songs phone home and won't let you play them any more. That's why Steve Jobs said that customers don't want subscription services; people want to own their music, not rent it. Maybe Rhapsody's subscription method is different though.

That would explain why the fees are so low.

Rhapsody is a giant on-demand streaming service ... um, no thanks. You pay $10/month for music that isn't yours, and you have to pay a fee for each track you want to burn. No thanks. I'd recommend checking out iTunes.
