I've decided to take a series of screenshots from my current favorite FPS game/mod: The Specialists (A Half-Life mod) and put them here with appropriate commentary. My screenname's "Frostburn" in case you haven't noticed.




The Buy menu, showcasing a glorious collection of implements of pain and destruction available for your use. In the meantime I'm chase-camming some random guy.

Me pegging some poor guy with my Golden Colts. Fear my spiffy golden pistols of doom!

Let's give a moment of silence to this poor dude who ate a bullet from my Desert Eagle.

A guy below, another across from me, and a third perched on the tower. Who to kill? So many choices, so little time. ^_^

If you look at the floor closely, you'll notice a small red dot, which is from someone's lasersight; which means someone's either sniping from up there or ready to jump in

Note the "Kung Fu" on the lower right bar. Yes, it means I'm being an idiot trying to rush a guy with a SMG. I died promptly afterwards.

I have just been hit with a 50 caliber BMG. Ouch.

Did I just die? No, it's me getting down on my knees and cursing the heavens for making my shotgun run out of ammo before some punk runs up to me and sticks a knife in my face

If it weren't for the fact that it would always have my ping in unbearable ranges (500 minimum, usually above 1000), I would play it.

I don't know why, I have broadband, and I play other HL mods just fine...

Ah, team strategy.

There is a teamplay mode in The Specialists, but mostly it usually devolves into something like this:


Team moves down hallway.

One member spots enemy and starts shooting.

The entire team jumps on the lone enemy like a pack of rabid wolves, filling the poor bastard with at least two hundreds rounds worth of ammunition.

Some enemy dude chucks a grenade into the hall.

Entire team dies.
