The weapon is the 7.62 KvKK 62 light machinegun, a real oldie, just like the kind we're expected to have at the swedish brigade.

It must've been a PKM (7.62x54mm rimmed cartridge). There's no other Russian-built machine gun in the Finnish inventory. The Finnish-built KvKK is being phased out in favor of the PKM, Oberleutnant tells me.His Divine Shadow wrote:I dunno, we just called it MG-88 Machine-Gun model 88 or something, they said it was russian, I never found out much about.
7.62mm it was.
Uhm, If your claiming that the AK has a nasty recoil, I must beg to differ. Even on full auto it stays pretty much where it is, at least compared to the few other assault rifles I had the oppurtunity to fire.Sea Skimmer wrote:Because the action is very violent. As I've said the AK-47 is very reliable because it's overpowered, which also makes it less accurate.Pendragon wrote:
Correct my if I'm wrong, but isnt the M-76 chambered in 5,56x45 rather than 7,62x39?
And were the sights adjustable? Because the major issue with the AK's accuracy were that you had to compensate "manually" instead of zeroing the sights. With adjustable sights, I dont see why it shouldnt be as accurate as any assault rifle.
Thats weird, we used the KvKK and they said it was russian...Vympel wrote:The Finnish-built KvKK is being phased out in favor of the PKM, Oberleutnant tells me.

Ofcourse we never got the best equippment either, for example only the Jaeger company had the new M95's, we all had RK-62/76's
Though personally thats better since they are lighter and more resiliant, though I wouldn't have minded an RK-76 with a foldable stock.
Well they where just under-sergeants, what the fuck do they know anyway? They've just been there six months longer than us anyway...Vympel wrote:They told you an indigenous Finnish MG was Russian?
Swedish brigade so that possibility doesn't apply.Sir Sirius wrote:You were told that the KvKK was Russian?! Are you sure that they said that it was Russian rather then saying that it was "Ryssäksi tehty" (Russian made = crap)? The former requirs a rather mindbogling amount of ignorance, the later I can understand.
IOW, it's for pussies!AdmiralTDM wrote:Oh well im insane...
I believe in the M-14 all the way.. Though I also like the mini-14 since its just a smaller version of the M-14 shooting 5.56 ammo * same as M-16*
