Just switched to Mozilla

Post by muse »

I decided to try out Mozillla Firebird after reading all the good things about it in this forum. So far I have one issue, where's the friggin' clock and can I get one to show up somewhere in the browser window? I normally use Opera which has the time displayed near the upper right of the screen since I have my computer autohide the windows taskbar for maximum screen space. Other than that I'm liking it, the tabbed browsing's throwing me off since I'm used to going to the bottom of the screen to change windows in Opera, I supose I can manage. I think I can finally get rid of Netscape 4.X on my computer, yay for progress!

Just bring up the task bar when a time check is needed.

There might be an extension somewhere on www.texturizer.net/firebird that does what you want.

Install the Tabbrowser Extentions plugin, and check out the preferences. There's an option to make the tabs appear on the bottom. (I use it to customize tab behavior a bit more... like using single-window mode.)

I dunno if there's a clock plugin, though.

You might want to check out www.mozdev.org and see if there is anything like what you want.

I don't think it works for Firebird, but there's always MultiZilla which was designed to emulate a lot of Opera's functionality--it was the first Mozilla add-on to feature tabbed browsing.

Firebird actually implements MultiZilla but doesn't expose all of the preferences.
