You should know damn well that there is no such thing as an IQ as a measureable thing within you.
I know. I was refering to the shit-ness of this test. I took one when I was 9, saw the results(that or I was allowed to see false results to boost my self-esteem*shrug*)... Much higher when it is an ACTUAL test who's scale goes higher than 140, if you get my drift.

Well, yeah, same here. I had MENSA chasing me for years after my parents made me do that test.

It's still bullshit, though.

I did too, all my mom told me that I was higher than 120. The only thing I can remember is that they liked that instead of playing the game they wanted me to I made up rules for a new game using the pieces and everything from that game.

i remember that i found hte game boring and pointless, all i was doing was moving some building blocks around and stuff... thats what i can remember atleast.

i remember that there was a conversation, but i can't remember what it was about... its really hazy, i must have been about 3, all my memories from that age are hazy.

i think its cos that was a traumatic year for me after being chased down a road by a big dog in spain, and finding a huge fucking spider in teh swimming pool on the same trip lol.

127 and Precision Processor. Meh, I don't believe it. I should have gotten a lower score.

I retook it, selected answers randomly, and got a result in the 80's. My guess is that you get 75-80 points just for taking the test. Hey, we should find that mentally retarded kid who keyed his bosses car (mentioned in another thread), read him the test, and see how he does. My guess is that he'll come out near-normal by pure chance.

More accurately, most tests are designed and centered around 100. There are some that are specialized for higher IQs, or lower ones. Of course, IQ being a bit of an iffy thing in the first place, and it gets to be less and less well defined at the extremes.

According to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is a Visionary Philosopher.

This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns. And that's just some of what we know about you from your IQ results.
I like the results, but I doubt that it was long enough to be too accurate. Hence, I'm definently not going to pay for the results.
Just after I finished the test and posted the result here I figured out one of the questions. Went back and did it again and got your result.

The test itself is not a bad test, but too short and the range of possible values is too low. The lowest I could get was 72.
I'm curious to what the rest of you thought were the right answers to some:

John likes 400 but not 300; he likes 100 but not 99; he likes 2500 but not 2400. Which does he like?
900
1000
1100
1200
I have no fricken idea what that was supposed to be.

900 = perfect square

If some Wicks are Slicks, and some Slicks are Snicks, then some
Wicks are definitely Snicks. The statement is:
True
False
Neither
I haven't taken a test like that for a while. It's indeterminent, so I put neither, correct?

false

In a race from point X to point Y and back, Jack averages 30 miles per hour to point Y and 10 miles per hour back to point X. Sandy averages 20 miles per hour in both directions. Between Jack and Sandy, who finished first?

It's Sandy, right? 1/2 the time She's traveling 50% slower than Jack, and the rest She's traveling twice as fast.

Sandy

Question 37 (which I won't quote as it has a picture).

D, I think.

Qestion 40. I selected the square with the triangle, as on the other four, the smaller shape was essentially connected to an angle.

Not sure.

I.Q. tests measure intelligence and Intelligence is what I.Q. tests measure.

There is some debate over what intelligence is and how can it be measured. There is also considerable cultural bias in many tests.

I just took the test and frankly I think it's a sham. They probably artificially inflate your scores in order to make you more willing to fork over some dough for their services. Even if that's not the case, that test is no where near comprehensive enough to get any kind of meaningful insight into your intelligence or personality type. The last real IQ test I took was at Medical Flight Screening back in August, and it was long. We spend all morning on that thing answering what were some really tough questions. It wasn't anywhere near like the candy ass test over at emode.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

Right. It's disconcerting when you first take the test, but then you remember the source and realize that it would have been wasteful, given the expected audience, to invest in a quiz that goes above 140.

131 and Insightful linguist.

The test was a pile of garbage. It was incredibly culturally biased (all those "complete the saying" questions), and if the scale really goes up to 140, then its a truly worthless waste of webspace.

Have a very nice day.

Actually, I think those questions were used to determine what type of person you were. For example, if you put down the logical answer instead of the idiom, they'd list you as Precision Processor as opposed to Linguistic or whatever catagory they had for that...

I don't know about that. I retook the test and tried different answers for those. IIRC, my score went down.
