Edgewater man, 34, charged after firing gun at game console

Anne Arundel County police say they have discovered the cause of a Friday night shooting in Edgewater: an Xbox game system.

Angry that his roommates were being too loud at 2 a.m., Robert Preston Kersey, 34, of the 1700 block of Fairhill Drive stormed into the living room and fired a single gunshot into the game system, disabling it, police said. The 9mm gunshot did not penetrate the system and did not injure anyone at the scene, police said.

Kersey has been charged with two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of destruction of property, police said.

No, he shot it because his friends were playing it at 2:00 AM and wouldn't shut the fuck up. So he shot it to shut them up.

1. System was disabled. Bullet had to go in to do that.

2. Penetrate in this context most likely meant bullet completely entering and exiting the xbox.

3. Not as big, but they did say the shot was fired into the system.

Just what I could gather.

Just what I could gather.

The article specifically says that the round didn't penetrate the system. And the round doesn't need to penetrate the case to disable the system. The sudden shock from the momentum transfer would be enough to damage electronics or the mechanicals inside the system's drive (insofar as everything would be bolted to the inside of the case.)

He... I LOVE the original X-Box controllers... They fit your hand just right, not all scrunched up, but nothing too far out of reach. (actually, the white/black button placement was a little bad, but there's not really anywhere better to put it... oh well-- still better than the N64+Playstation controller-on-acid that is the Gamecube)

Hey, to each his own. But have you seen the Controller S? I still prefer the original, but those who like them small (hehe) will like the Controller S.

Anyways, there are some decent Japanese games that have hit the Xbox. I particularly enjoyed Panzer Dragoon Orta and Dead or Alive 3 (all hail the dancing boobies!)

I've beaten MP twice now.

The GC controller is fine.
