If there aren't pilotable AT-ATs, it's a complete failure in my eyes.

If I can't be sitting in an AT-AT cockpit commanding the battle from there with a driver and gunner infront of me and a platoon of the Emperors finest in the back its a complete failure for me...

Of course the vehicles are pilotable. Heck, it even looks kinda like bf1942. The guns are a pleasant surprise.

Always check Gamespot first. :)

This game is being slated for the PS/2, but also for the Gamecube, XBox and PC. So don't fret.

 Wow, first I've heard of this game. Off to Lucasarts dotcom I go.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Damn, this could be good. Let's hope it's more of a Jedi Outcast than a Phantom Menace. ;)

If it is anything like 1942, shooting the AT-AT with a blaster enough time will kill it....

This game looks nice, but, being made primarily for the PS/2, the other systems may get shorted a bit. Games work best when tailored to a specific system, methinks.

I would have been happier with a design for PC and ported to consoles. You KNOW it is going to seriously lack for PC now :( I doubt we will see 64 player MP maps and such..

Hopefully there might be some modding potential with the PC port.

Evidenced by Games Like GTA3 (Excluding the much touted improved targeting system...I just don't see much difference from PS2 to PC) but you could also end up with something like Halo, which was great on XBox, but REALLY shines on PC (if for no other reason than the addition of easy internet multiplayer) I think, however, many VG companies are getting better at taking advantage of different system's strengths and weaknesses and seem to be moving away from direct porting. time will tell, I suppose.

What's wrong with that? Its a pretty exciting time in the galaxy, and we've never had a game focusing on the actual troops before (Dark Forces series has always been Quake-style FPS with focus on Jedi).

I suppose, but it just seems done to death, although for this type of game I suppose it would be best. I'm just tired of seeing the same events re-hashed ad nauseum.

And only the first Dark Forces game was a GCW game. The sequels took place post-Endor.

Nope......the equivalent of a blaster would be a rifle. I don't care how many times you shoot a tank with a rifle you won't kill it.

People should try not to forget that Republic Commando is coming out in a short bit too, and is promising gritty and 'realistic' Clone Wars squad-based FPS action.
