Italian! Just thinking of a big plate of rotini or ziti or any pasta for that matter with marinara sauce and romano cheese gets me hungry. Although I do like Mexican food. Thats definitely a close second.

Asian and Italian. I like foods such as sushi, as well as pasta.

Donuts?! I told you, I don't like ethnic foods!

I don't really think of Italian as an ethnic food, but if we include it, here's how the list goes:

1) Afghan/Persian (they're similar enough that if I'm craving one, I'm craving the other, so I put them together. But I guess I like Afghan better)
2) Indian
3) German (if Italian's ethnic, then so is this)
4) American
5) Italian
6) American Schezuan Chinese (don't give me any of this authentic crap)

Least favorite ethnic foods:

1) Japanese (stupid bullshit sushi and crap, or steak and rice. alternatively disgusting or boring)
2) Mexican (tortilla with meat, cheese, or vegetable. Plus, I don't like beans. There's some great Mexican food, but you can say that about any cuisine. Overall, both boring and nasty)
3) Non-Provencal French (must everything be in an egg or cream sauce? Speaking of which, I fucking hate eggs)
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Italian pasta and Japanese foods.

Curried beef and rice 0\/\/n, and ramen is quite the spot-hitter. :)

Fgalkin, I think you're supposed to pick a favorite ethnic food which is not of your own ethnicity...

(Okay, I could say the same to the Cajun guy)

BTW - didn't Monty Burns once claim on "The Simpsons" that donuts were an ethnic food?

Even though I prefer Japanese food to Italian food, if I could only eat one for the rest of my life I would probably take Italian food, since I eat it so much more frequently (being significantly less expensive and easier to come by). Thai food is another excellent option, but again with the expense and the difficulties in acquiring it.

American, then.

Seriously, though, either Italian, Japanese, or Chinese.

I love Japanese food, Sushi is so good. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Raw Tuna. Yes, Japanese is my favorite, but I see it as a treat, not a big enough selection to live off of. (As the OP stated)

It would have to be American, or Mexican that I would have to choose, if thats all I could eat. Most likely American, due to the wider selection, and variety.

*On a side note, I took a date to Finding Nemo and we had Sushi after the movie.

I myself could live off of Chinese cuisine for the rest of my life, both Cantonese and Schezhuan; simply wonderful. Japanese and Thai would come in a close second, followed by the rich goodness that is Italian. I've also sampled and liked Greek, Moroccan, Cajun, and Mexican menus and have never been disappointed.

Of course, you can never go wrong with the fare to be found from any fishing or seaport area. Live near the sea, and you'll eat well for life.

Well, since about 4 of every 5 dishes I eat would be considered local "ethnic" food, and I've tried all the different types of foreign food (which isn't bad or anything), I would say that if I had to chose only one, I would chose the local cuisine. But we have the World Record for variety after all, so there's a lot to choose from.

Chinese, please. You can keep the Cantonese pretty much, however.

Mexican, Indian, German, Japanese, Vietnamese, Italian, French, are all favorites too.
