What about Russian rap? I've heard a bit of that, I thought it was very ghetto-phat although I was unsure what they were singing about.fgalkin wrote:No, and I don't intend to. Rap sucks
In my opinion tough-guy thug artists like 50 cent and whoever are posers, and you have to go for foreign rap to get the real deal. So what if he dealt crack and has been shot? I'd rather listen to a Romanian gangstar who has killed a man with a flail made of bicycle chains.

Agreed. Any schmuck can mumble infront of a mic and dance around like you're on hot coals. I'd like to see a single one of them sing anywhere near some of the talent that some 80's rockers had. Hell, even Bryan Adams had some rockin' songs back then.fgalkin wrote:No, and I don't intend to. Rap sucks
Have a very nice day.

I've heard the Randy Savage album. It is positively the worst thing in the entire universe. Words fail me.
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! Yes I have, and I laughed my ass off. "Be a Man, Hogan." I do plan on picking it up too. Not because I like rap, but because I'm a fan of wrestling, and Savage is one of my all time favorites.lance wrote:The Machoman Randy Savage has became a rap artist. His first cd is "Be a Man"

This is the STRANGEST SHOT!!! Today I got an email from my sister in England. She was doint the pilot for a new game show over there and one of the guest was Mochoman. AFter the show she was just talking with him, like 'Are you wrestling anymore' his answer being 'No, I rap now'. She said she had to hold back her expression because she wasnt expecting an answer like that. Weird I just got that email today.
On a slightly different subject, I have to disagree a bit when Pablo said you have to go to a foreign country to find good rap. The thing is there are A LOT of good hiphop/rappers here but the record company's dont push them. I will say that about 90% of rap you see/hear on mainstream stations blow donkeykong balls. The guys who come from music backgrounds and actually talk about something other the "bling" and 'hoes' gets put on the back burner cuz they aren't "Edgy" enough for the record co's and to them "Edgy" means money and to hell with substance. Thats my bit.

This is actually rather true. If you look at real underground/indie hip-hop artists, you find good beats, smooth flow, and insightful lyrics. And rappers who know that to rhyme properly, one must do it in iambic pentameter.spongyblue wrote:This is the STRANGEST SHOT!!! Today I got an email from my sister in England. I saw him perform "Be A Man" on Best Damn Sports Show. Apparently Hulk Hogan was saying some nasty things about Macho Mand and I think that somewhere along the line Hulk Hogan screwed Macho Man out of a big wad of cash. So Macho Man is calling out Hulk Hogan for (get this,) the first REAL professional wrestling match ever, which means it will be like Ultimate Fighting or Toughman. An actual, unstaged, complete with real violence.
The rapping is probably just an attempt to milk whats left of the Macho Man cash cow.

Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise
Run DMC songs
ICP songs, if i'm in a rare mood.
That's probably the maximum of the listenable rap, although eminem is sometimes entertaining.

Primary subject: Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot.
Secondary Subject: While I like rap as an art form, the vast majority of major acts out there are bullshit. It's gotten so bad that Jay -Z, IMO one of the worse offenders of said bull, has gotten tired of it. At present, I really don't listen to much hip-hop anymore, except for Outkast(who kick ass), Ludacris(Whose funny as hell, and has real rhyming talent), Busta Rhymes(mostly his stuff from '94-2000), and very few others, mostly older tracks and artists.
