Hm... small starfighter carrier? Maybe an independent explorer/whatever ship that can have its own compliment of fighters. (if it's an RPG campaign, would make sense for a crew that goes places and has the ability to get in a fighter or shuttle, but without having a huge frigate or ISD )
Two obvious uses for the corvette would be as an escort carrier for convoys and as a raider carrier.
An escort carrier or two would obviously be a cheaper and more means of providing a convoy with protection against pirates than, say, using a frigate-sized carrier or a huge monster like an ISD. A pair of escort carriers could split the responsibility, one carrier's fighters deployed, the other carrier's fighters on standby.
In the opposite role, a raider carrier can drop into a system via hyperdrive and disgorge a dozen fighters that streak to their target, or deploy its fighters to ambush a convoy. Against lighter targets, the raider carrier's own dual turbolasers can be employed for direct bombardment. If the fighters are hyperdrive-capable, the carrier itself can immediately leave the target zone and either withdraw to a safe rendezvous point or strike a secondary target in a nearby system.
A less-obvious use would be as a delivery vehicle for commando or special operations teams. Basically, the carrier drops out of hyperspace a considerable distance from the objective, sneaks in as close as possible, and then disgorges one or more small shuttles and possibly a half-squadron of escort fighters to conduct a covert attack, deliver a recon team, or recover a recon team or spy.
Those are both terrible designs for modifications. I am currently laughing at the author and illustrator for having to resort to such hooliganism, rather than just designing a new ship class. But in any case, they do exist in SW, and there's really nothing I can do about it. Damn.

They're completely unnecessary new designs, but I kind of like them. What is the point, though, of not having the cockpit on that YT-1300 in a blister coming off of the top? It would be a lot more structurally sound, and more aerodynamic in an atmosphere.

Wait... That almost looks like the Night Caller except basterdised and idioty designed

I was just eyeballing the pic, is it just me or does the opening of the starboard hanger look too small to allow even the Xwing thats hanging off the side? It looks realy short to me. Stupid design, even for a pocket carrier. There is no room for the support that a carrier would need for 10 or so fighters.

Its more like it’s the same idea of the Night Caller, it looks nothing like the ship described. Its also much to small, Night Caller had to have been a bigger overall vessel.

No. Night Caller was simply rearranged internally (remember, Wedge didn't come to the conclusion that it was a subtype and not a refit until walking through it) This seem DESIGNED to carry a squadron, whereas the Wraiths really had to cram their x-wings into the NC.
I think however this is SMALLER than a standerised Coverette(Maybe by as much as Ten Meters)Look at the comparsion of the X-wing on the side
Flip it over and point it up... now regular corvettes are roughly 30 Meters tall not counting the Dish on top
Meaning one can fit two X-wings top to bottom(12.5+12.5=25)
Now then THAT corvette is basicly 20... Maybe 22 not counting the sensor dish
IE think its a bit small fokes?

Shep, is this thing bilaterally symetrical? looks like it should be, but I can't...quite...tell...
Anyway, positives would include its ability to hold shuttles and fighters inside the hull, rather than at exposed docking ports (despite that idiotic X-wing hanging off the side).
It would probably be able to get closer to a target before launching than a SD or a cruiser, since it presents a smaller target profile. It also seems to be slightly better armed than the Tantive.
Assuming that all the fighters are flown by people as capable as YOU would appear to be in games like X-Wing, then this vessel is the ultimate weapon of destruction.
12 "human piloted" X-Wings can take down anything baby.
But then again the games aren't canon. And anyhow, I'd fill it up with A-Wings. You could fit more of them in.
What kind of shuttle would you put in that tiny little hanger. The hanger aperture looks to barely fit a starfighter let alone a shuttle. And again, where do you fit all the support equipment so those fighters and shuttles can operate and still have room for the crew, propulsion, weapons, and other systems for the ship let alone the auxiliary craft.

Nope sorry the Doors are too small to let anything but fighters in and our, on the side to narrow and on the other side,, thingly too short
You could not fit TIEs in there either..

There is no real way you can have a ship this small and support a squadron of fighters with it. If you doubled the size to over 300 meters with basicly the same features it might work. But with a ship this small you would use your internal volume for the ship itself and not for secondary vessels. With a ship of this size, I would remove the hangers and use external racks and docking tubes. Thus saving the internal space for the ship, with some for support of the docking ships.
Taticly, the huge interior space of the ship is a liability. An explosion in the hangars would snap the small ship in two.

I laugh at the stupidity of the Corvette's design they need some damn orginality. The YT Transport design was ok. But the Corvette is just dumb I mean TIE Racks could work..
