6 points.
how about from 5 to 7?
6+7=13, so 13 points.
You forgot about the doubling rule for Tier 1 skills. As Art says, to take a Tier 1 skill from 5 to 6 costs 12 (2*6), and 5 to 7 costs 26 (2*6 plus 2*7).

For Tier 3 skills, the cost is halved. So 5 to 6 only costs 3 for a Tier 3 skill.

Both Ernesto and Mikal's sheets have been updated. Sorry about the delay, end of semester stuff has been kicking my ass lately. I'm so fucking glad the 12th is the last day.

EDIT: Heh, with my 100th post I went from no stars to 4. That's pretty funny.

Heya Gerard,

Don't worry about the lag in updating. I figured that something had come up. I only pointed that out in my OOC stuff, so that Arthur knew that I had sent it to you. ^_^

Thanks a lot guys. I had a fucking dream about this last night. It's all because Gerard changed his post.

In case anyone's wondering, I'm waiting for the next turn before I answer any questions (in game questions, that is).

Why not answer them now? There's really nothing to execute the way it is.

Again, apologies for the delay, folks, but I was operating under a deadline for a rather important project and needed to get it done ASAP.

I'll get something going shortly.

There's really not much to tell. I read your changes just before I went to bed, so it was on my mind. It was only a minute or so, and was pretty much a replay of your post.
Why not answer them now? There's really nothing to execute the way it is.
Okay. There probably won't be much to execute when I'm done, either.

The second catches him in the torso and erupts out his back in a spray of blood. The third rips his heart to pieces, killing him instantly, but before his lifeless body has a chance to hit the ground, the fourth and fifth rounds sever half his arm and his ear, right through his helmet.

Hehe. That's the BAR for you. Sure it may be too heavy to make a good rifle and lacking decent capacity and quick-change barrel to make a good light machinegun, but when you get nailed by a full auto stream of 30-06, you're screwed :)

On an unrelated note, rather than executing the whole turn at once (which can be a pain in the ass and I admit to sometimes putting off), I've started executing bits of turns as they come in. We'll see whether this creates too much confusion to be worth it.

As I have proven, my brain is small. I'll probably lose my place a couple of times, trying to keep the turns segregated appropriately. Which is longhand for saying: It'll be confusing to see people posting after you and then having to scroll up to see what happened. That's just a paradigm, and not necessarily a big deal.

My only problem is that I have both threads set to notify me when their is a new post. I'm not notified when a post is edited. Again, not really a big deal as I browse this site many times a day.

Those are my only contentions.

Eh, time is a fluid thing in these sorts of games. So long as everyone knows approximately when they're posting it shouldn't be too bad, with the exception of combat. :)

On another note...the whole world has come undone. What has Blaine done?

If I quote what has already been executed, that should deal with both of those contentions, no?

Yes. Uh.. no? Wait, what's the question?

If you make a new post, quoting a previous one then my only quasi-valid contention is dealt with.
On another note...the whole world has come undone. What has Blaine done?
Hey, cats and dogs have been living together for years. You can't blame me for anything!

On a third hand...

Well, I've been done with my turn, as my character is still a passenger waiting for the driver to go somewhere, and doesn't have anything more to say to either of them (except maybe shrug, which is usually his indiferent response).

Which is exactly why I picked it. Sure, they Ruger's nice, but I'm packing the BAR from now on. And if somebody's got a problem, well...

Confusion with figuring when exactly a turn is over, I would think. Before, it was just when you posted, the turn was done.

Now, it's like, well, let's see, has everyone else posted? No? Ok, so the turn isn't over yet. But wait, here's another GM post with new rolls, is this a new turn? Fuck, I dunno. How much XP did I earn? 12? 2? Hell if I know.

Maybe it's just my incompetence, but I think simpler is better.

executing turns

Post by Marcao »

I would prefer that turns were executed as often as possible. Yes, it will add a bit of confusion into the mix but it will keep the story moving. if three people are off doing one thing, while the rest of the group are doing another why should the three wait for everyone else to move their arc?

As the thugs swarm for cover, Dirk holds down the trigger, guiding his stream toward the next one. Though this causes most of the bullets to be wasted, it virtually guarantees hits. The first on-target round is the only one that really matters, as it catches the running target in the temple. While a temple shot is almost always fatal under any circumstances, the tough helmet provides enough resistance to the steel core round for it to expand sufficiently to blow the top of the man's head to pieces. Blood and brains showers large sections of the asphalt in the direction of the exit wound.

Just to add insult to mortal injury, the next two rounds blow his foot and arm off, the former causing his lifeless body's momentum to take a downward turn. The effect of his blown-open head hitting the pavement at running speed is too sickening to describe.
Damn, I love the BAR. I also like the "head fucking gone" short description of what 14 damage does directly to the guy's temple. That's great.

As for the post directly above this one, Marcao has a good point. I supposed the added confusion is worth it as long as we're all separated and not really working on the same "turn" anyway.
