Well a friend of mine said when a got to my 500th comic(poorly drawn stick figures and mostly inside jokes, so really just my group of friends are going to see it, cause only they would get most of the jokes) she was going to celebrate by having sex with me. And yesterday I found out she's dead serious.

Probably some emasculating uber-bitch that whipped her men into submisson (and not the good why either) and doesn't understand what real guys are like. The article seems pretty much dead on to me both from a guy's perspective and from what I've seen of my female friends.

Then what a fool he is. :)

Besides some things Mike listed, I'd also like comic books or sci-fi/fantasy novels. A small nice card would also do.

After reading that article, you really want to trust your female counterpart to buy RAM? (no offense to the knowledgable ladies here on the forum)

That was funny, yet useless for the 95% of users on this board who are male. Is the Mrs of the house going to write a 'Christmas Gift-Giving Tips for the Guys" article for the rest of us?

Just tell her what you want her to get before she gets it. Sure, it takes out all the mystery and romance, but it's worth it to not get a crappy gift.
Don't hate; appreciate!

Women simply don't understand why men like fast cars, porn, explosions and things that cause said explosions and so on.

I tried for an hour to explain to a girl I know over MSN why I'd love to own a fighter jet or my choice and cruise around at Mach 2+ higher than any passenger plane. She simply didn't get it.

I think the old adage Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus rings true.

its true that a lot of woman/girls don't get tech speak, upon asking a girl how much ram was in her computer (i was trouble shooting for her, NOT being an uber geek :P) she replied with the sheep smilie and said "cruelty to sheep"

at which point i informed her i can't help her cos she's female.

Wong, I just love how amazingly blunt and truthful you can be about stuff like this.

And that entire article is just SO damn true... Unfortuantely, I've got the technical knowhow of a 3 year old. "The RAM....isn't that a type of animal? Oh yeah, it's on my computer too...heh..."

For anyone that knows Jeremy Clarkson, this is the type of article he typically would make.

I find him to be rather annoying... mainly because he reminds me rather a lot of a guy I know who wanders round taking the piss out of Big Issue salesmen , sort of guy who'd kick a beggar when he's down, that sort of thing.

I quite enjoyed the potato launching on his talk show, which I suppose is a typical bloke/explosion thing, but apart from that, I have very little time for him, he can amuse at times, but most of the time, he really get's up my nose. :)

I have a simple system worked out. Just bake me some cookies and I'm happy. But if she really insists on buying me a gift I wouldn't mind having a Wadia 861se CD player.

Me & my sister just invite them over to our place for meals and cuddle them. It's a bit of work but's a lot easier than figuring out what the hell they want and buying it for them only to find out a)they already have it, or b)they don't need it.

Like Mike, I am among the few on the board over 30. But a lego set of any size it still COOOOOOOOOOOL! and heartily accepted.
