Any article in which "chainsaw" is used as a verb is by definition, the Avatar of Awesome. Love this bit too:
SALESMAN: Well, that one is very cheap, but it's made in China. By communists. In a sweatshop. By children. Starving children. Starving orphaned children. Working for 18 hours a day on a single grain of rice, so they can keep the costs down. If you look closely, you can see the little fingerprints.

What about the universal chocolate chip cookies? Ideal for males and females, of all ages, so long as they still got teeth left intact and a good dental/medical plan.

Damn, I can't believe I forgot putting LEGOs on my wish list.
*puts LEGOs on wish list*
Although I'm somewhat surprised at my fellow cavemen-
I mean, where's the challenge in putting together a LEGO set with the instructions?
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me. Real hard.'
'You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues.'
'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'
'Tactically we have multiple objectives. So we need to split into teams.'-'Dibs on the Amazon!'
'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'

But good suggestions and IB's underwear problem proves that some guys are just too dumb.

Watch your husband's face very carefully as he opens the box and discovers revealing lingerie inside. If his expression is one of profound relief and he says "How did you know?", then you have just discovered that your husband is a cross-dresser (or he's been possessed by the ghost of J. Edgar Hoover). Either way, good luck in therapy.

I think it's more interesting that women read geek-culture sci-fi websites for the background details on their creator. That just seems unusual in the "why does she have the time for that, specifically?" way.

Well-written article, Mike.

As an aside from the part in his article about guy movies, have ANY of you guys seen the movie, "Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human"? It's...funny. A 'nature film documentary' on human mating rituals told from the perspective of an alien narrator (voiced by the guy who plays Niles on Frasier):

On movies:
"Human females prefer stories of one person dying slowly. Human males prefer stories of many people dying quickly."

Guess my girlfriend goes against the grain? I didn't have to tell her what I wanted,She went out and picked me up T-2:Extreme edition and the Indiana jones box set.(Shhh...I'm not supposed to know,But I checked up on her interac purchases.:P)

Only thing I've been harping on is a new surround sound set....

I think when it all is said and done, the money's been spent and the gifts are wrapped, nothing is more satisfying then opening that paper to have the massive visage of a fully-completed Star Destroyer staring you down, begging you to tear open the box and begin God's work.

Legos have managed to take up a deserved space in my room as it is. Some of my earliest creations--starships made from a set originally designed to be a house--sit atop my dresser for purely nostalgic purposes; the Bionicles (truely badass Legos) are ready for action in their cases; the Star Wars vehicles? Celebrated in their genious about the living room.

I do believe I need to add Legos to the wish list.

I've never cared for Legos. My attention span is way too short to spend more than half an hour on a project without significant results, and I've never been at all good with my hands.
Don't hate; appreciate!

Perhaps,But when it comes to electronics in my view the old saying "You get what you pay for."

So if she buys me something cheap,I'll get something cheap.;)
