Nobel Prize, on location (almost)

Post by Faram »

Okay I did't get invited to the Nobel prize award ceremonies this year.

So instead I’ll publish some photos from Stockholm City hall where the banquet is after the prize ceremony.

First off a picture of the exterior:

Note the three crowns a top of the tower, it’s Swedens official symbol, you Canadiands and Americans might notice it the next time we kick your ass in ice hokey. :)

This is the Blue hall where the banquet is:

Note it is red but it was originally intended to be blue but the architect liked the red brick so the hall stayed red.

The golden hall:

Yes all that looks like gold in here IS gold. Approximately 18miljon pieces of gold mosaic. Quite an impressive sight!

The tableware that each guest eats on:

It’s a mortal sin to pic the wrong glass :)

And at last the founder of Stockholm Birger Jarl

He’s still here guarding my great town!

Strange really this was my first visit to city hall even though I have lived here my entire life.

"Either God wants to abolish evil, and cannot; or he can, but does not want to. ... If he wants to, but cannot, he is impotent. If he can, but does not want to, he is wicked. ... If, as they say, God can abolish evil, and God really wants to do it, why is there evil in the world?" -Epicurus

Fear is the mother of all gods.

Nature does all things spontaneously, by herself, without the meddling of the gods. -Lucretius
