I'm currently running Ximian Evolution 1.4, and while it's a rather nice mail client, it's also overkill for what I normally do.
Does anyone have any other preference for mail clients?

Balsa was one of those things that I never got around to checking out.

There's also slypheed (sp?). I used to use kmail, then switched over to Evolution after I purged all KDE programs (since they all failed to work after upgrading to NPTL libraries(has been fixed, but too lazy to go back)).
