It's not suprising that the Republicans had no shot at winning this election. What is surprisisng that 47% of the People voted Green and had Gonzalez won, he would have been the first Green Party candidtate ever elected to high office. Hell, he would been the highest ranking Green party member!

Pretty big coup for the Dems. They were wise to get some of their strongest personalities out there to get out the vote.

'Frisco would have gotten shit is state aid from Arnie if they elected a neo-commie. Stupid greens.

We have that problem in Providence. all these dipshit space cadet kids at Brown University and RISD register to vote en masse and got a green party member/stoner poli-sci major on the city council. They then try and push though all these ludicrisly expensive social welfare plans that they will never have to pay for or ever live with the long term consequences of, because they only live here for 4-8 years.

Im glad Newsom won. The Green party is full of shreaking folks with no real platform. Only in San Francisco would Newsom be portrayed as a Repub. Most of you folks you see him as a moderate to liberal democrat.

Anyway, one thing I really noticed about Gonzolez supporters is the were a bit like fundies. Last night I heard one lady rail against Newsom about how he is a "rich boy" and such. Yet, Gonzolez makes 100K a year and was born in a wealthy family. But somehow thats okay.
