Yeah, I know I'm a tad late but I was quite busy the last two days. I'm suprised I found the time to watch the show at all. Anyway...Stravo wrote:You know what, say what you will about the old one, that the effects were dated, blah blah, but damn if the battles weren't always BIG. Raiders would fill the starry skies and Vipers would be swarming around the waves of attacking raiders.GrandMasterTerwynn wrote:And what happened to the epic space battles? Instead of a horde of ten Cylon raiders coming at you, you have them coming at you in pairs and singletons. Worse, the new Cylon Raiders look like Kilrathi Dralthi fighters from Wing Commander III.
What do we get here, one or two at a time launching nukes like they were giving them away for free. UGH.
That isn't entirely true. There was only one piece of stock footage that involved Vipers and Raiders "swarming" around as you describe and it involved roughly ten fighters total. It's a pretty crappy piece, too. Laser shots are a bit odd and turbo glows aren't aligned properly.

I'm not going to list all my likes/dislikes because my list basically matches Periquinnus' (sp?) earlier in the thread. I liked the inclusion of many old designs in the Rag-tag Fleet (tm). I counted 2 Colonial Movers, one Gemeni Freighter, a prison barge, an unnamed design from the original show, and the stern of a Celestra. The Celestra is hard to see so look for a bright rectangular engine set inside a cylinder.
