Yes, a heart of gold that one. Too bad it's secluded behind a chain saw, a junk yard dog on steroids, locked in a Swiss vault guarded by a couple of T-800s, which is fenced by the cynical mania that can only be powered by years and years of a life without hugs. And puppies.

In my experience, the only people who use .410 shotguns that aren't collectors are either eccentric target shooters, unconcernedly casual gun owners, morons, and professional sharpshooter dove hunters.

It's such a rediculously small pencap of a shell, it makes 28 guage look impressive. Slug/sabot might improve some of those issues, though I doubt you would find that done more than rarely. Yuo'd then have a rare and bizzarely underpowered and inaccurate long-arm. As for additionally sawing off the barrel and further reducing the accuracy...

Just get a .44 handgun or a Winchester 94 lever-action carbine. It'd save you the trouble.

Anywho, I know a normal pump-action sawed-off shotgun with a pistol grip stock (image below, top shotgun) would fall under the rifle skill, but what about something a little more... compact, like an over/under with no forearm or stock, and a ~3" barrel? (image below, bottom shotgun)

What would the stats be for a Remington 1100? Does the gas autoloading bring the recoil down to 3?

And while I'm at it, how would a laser sight or combat flashlight affect unaimed fire using shot or flechetes, and what would the rules and availability of tear gas be?

Ohh, bloody bug-nuts! I should have known I missed a few paragraphs and got some continuity wrong. Screw this back-tracking; from now on, I'm just going to stick with the standard role-playing 'what do I see?' question each time I run into you putzes again. :P

That's a neat little thing. If it were me, I'd combine rifle and handgun, divide by two.

Eh, I'd call it a pistol, rather than make special-case rules for it. The recoil alone is going to be a bitch just as much (if not more so than) a DE .50 AE. If he can shoot it without tearing a ligament in his arm every time he does so, more power to him. It's not like he'll be able to get off more than two shots before needing to reload anyway, and range is going to be crap due to barrel length.

A laser sight is a poor man's smartlinking. From the G&G CP rules:
User has full aim (no modifier) within 1 round instead of 2 and -3 if firing immediately instead of -10. Only as effective as a normal sight past 10 squares distance and useless past 20. Halve this effectiveness in the daytime. If the weapon takes a blow and the laser sight loses its alignment, misses will be automatic beyond point blank range.
Combat flashlights I would imagine would not be terribly effective for aiming purposes any more than badly-aligned laser sight (i.e. not much good outside of point-blank range). Of course, I'm not the definative source on such things.

Tear gas, I dunno. Similar thing on tasers and such.

Quick note: I've received Utsanomiko's and CorSec's updated sheets, but haven't had a chance yet to look them over and post them to the site.

Therefore, Art, if you're going to need to do any rolling for Stavis or Blaine, you might want to hold off on executing a turn until I can get those done.

I should be able to get to them around 1 pm Pacific time today, if not then, at least by 5 pm.

Also, Justin gets back from Chile tomorrow morning (Saturday), and he'll probably be all jet-lagged to hell, so if there are no turns executed tomorrow, that's why.

I've got some stuff to do today before I go to the airport, so I'll have to cut my Internet time as short as possible. So I'll try and answer the questions as well, but as quickly, as I can.

If you want to be a mutant, we can certainly work something out :). Mutants can be pretty bizzarre too, like a gorrilla with a human brain, but the thing to keep in mind that most mutants (not all) were failures, and are either deformed or insane or both.

That would be a seriously odd combination! Would have to be a custom job (the .410 rifled barrel) if it was sabot, and I suspect you'd have to make the ammo yourself, as I've never heard of slugs or sabot in .410. Depending on how far it was sawed down, it could be a pistol. Generally anything equal or smaller than a Desert Eagle or MP5K falls under pistol.

Same as the Mossberg 500 (or Benelli or whatever he pump gun I have listed was) except with one less recoil and 1 more ROF due to the self-loading action.

I suppose a laser sight or combat flashlight would be no more or less effective than a bead sight with shot or flechettes.

As for tear gas, it would be pretty cheap and common, causing the need for a willpower check to do something other than hack and cough and minuses if passed.

Character background/description:
When Yuuki, a sansei from Hawaii, entered college Japan was the USA’s valued ally. When he left, the two countries were at war, making it quite hard to find a job. Luckily, a few years later came the second civil war, and Yuuki found some people who were willing to employ him, and in a good cause too. They called his work terrorism, but as long as he was careful to attack only soldiers and to limit collateral damage he knew that he was a true revolutionary, and he did his best to try to restore the country he had been taught to love. It didn’t work out though, and the revolution failed, in his home state ironically.
After that Yuuki tried to find work helping causes he believed in, but not many were willing to employ someone as fastidious as he was. Still, he found work and was able to buy a bit of cyberware over the years. Unfortunately things have been slow lately, and he has been eating boiled potatoes for the last month.
Yuuki, who goes by Thomas because everybody mispronounces his same as “Yuki,” has studied Isshinryu Karate for most of his life, off and on, and has picked up some knowledge of firearms in the revolution. Ultimately he believes that everybody deserves to live, but that some people deserve to live less than other people because of their actions and so can be hurt or killed if there is a good reason.

I like the way your character is shaping up. However, I am very certain that he is not going to be the most likeable guy if the cyborgs in the group realize he is messing with EMP. As Mikal once said "you don't walk within a mile of me!". I think that will be the typical reaction.

You may have more points to distribute. I say may only because I'm not sure what Arthur means by "knowledge based skills" when reading the description on Hard Memory. When I submitted my character, HM was simply described as 'perfect memory'. The CP rulebook has been updated since the start of the campaign so we'll see what Arthur has to say, unless Gerard can weigh in on it.

If I'm wrong, then your current set up results in the following:
Available XP: 3
Earned XP:
Starting XP: 150
Money: $45 in pocket, $200 hidden in ceiling.
Inventory:
Brown Leather Jacket with extra pockets added on inside($50)
Laser Site ($100)
5 lb C4 ($175)
4 lb TNT ($40)
2lb Thermite ($20)
6 Tear Gas grenades ($60)

Homemade briefcase EMP bomb, lots and lots of electronics spare parts, soldering iron, portable electronics case, oldish laptop, ($2000)
NV goggles ($1000)
Plain old goggles ($5)

TMP – Cap 30, Conceal Jacket, $500
CZ-75 – Cap 16, Conceal Jacket, $700
Kubaton – Conceal Pocket, Freetarget(general), $5
The total is $5000. I thought the max was $4000 for starting.
Cybernetic upgrades:
Hard Memory: $20,000 ½ Price for Knowledge Skills
Visual Processor: $500 +4 Spot
Audio Processor Mk2: $2000 +8 Awareness
Cranial Shock Absorber: $500 Doubles Thresholds above Jaw
Circulatory Regulator: $1000 No bleeding
Nasal Filters: $500 Immune to harmful substances in air
Replacement Lungs: $500 Hold breath 30 minutes
That's $25000. Looks good to me.
