Gothika quick review(possible spoilers)

Post by Sam Or I »

I went to this movie with high hopes, and I was let down big time. As a movie it was alright. That was just it though, it was just ok. The typical Hollywood ghost story plot. I am being stocked by a ghost, find out what the ghost wants, fix, everyone lives happily ever after. I thought "the Ring", and the "sixth sense" would finally change the same old routine, they seem to be the exception which proves the rule. So wait for video.

Wow.. no one replied to this..

Anyhow, seeing as there's no need to open a new thread..

Yes, this movie could have been done better, and there could have been a lot more character development with several of the characters. As I am not one to like movies that take place all in one place, this was actually very well done.

However, I think that the beginning of the movie went way to fast, and the latter 1/2 hour was just kind of thrown together.

Special effects, at least, were cool.

I saw it today (on a quasi-date, so I was fantasizing more about the girl next to me than thinking about the move), and it wasn't scary. Not that I really like scary movies, but it was a let down. And I got frustrated because I was thinking about how I would have handled myself (gotten angry and punched the wall till they drugged me to oblivion). All in all, a renter for sure.

Damn, I heard that this was going to be a Silent Hill type movie. Guess it'll be something I catch on Pay-Per-View then. I really hope that Silent Hill movie gets done soon!
