Did anyone happen to catch the news conference with Bremer and Gen. Sanchez announcing this?
Those Iraqi reporters went absolutely NUTS when they showed his face on screen. You could even hear what sounded like sobbing in the background.
Got me a little emotional, if nothing brought home what a brutal piece of shit he was, their reaction did. Touched, I was.
One of Iraqis there mentioned how the death penalty has been outlawed recently in Iraq (despite what Amnesty International said), and asked is it possible that it might be reinstated just for him?

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Look at his pictures. Groomed he is not.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Oddly enough, this is where I heard it first as well.
Even weirder than that, I was watching football. One of the announcer's mentioned it. My wife turned to me and said, "Did they just say that they caught Saddam?"
"No, " I said. "If they caught him, they'd have interupted the game with a news alert. But if your curious, well switch it over to a news channel for a moment....*switch*.....Holly shit, they got him."
The NFL told me that we had caught Saddam.

If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

Dont forget the part where they introduce absolutely no new solutions to the problems of the days and instead just continue to rant how the Bush administration's solutions are all wrong wrong WRONG!

Since our Cassus Belli has been shown by our Allies in Isreal and England to be primarily staged and manufactured by the CIA. Who seriously doubts that any transcript of any legal proceedings will be available for over a century, and that his lawyers will get no chance/access to the information that could probably embarrass the Alliance.

Someone really had a sick sense of humor that day.

Yeah, I called my Dad at about 1500 EST, wanting to ask him about it. Like his son, he works in those kind of circles.
L: Sup Dad, what's the word?
D: What the Hell are you talking about?
L: Uh....the news of the Day?
D: Huh?
L: You know, the big story of the day?
D:What big story? ( GS-15 in the DIA, ladies and Gents)
L:...
L: You serious?
D: Yes!
L: They caught him! They caught Saddam, turn it to CNN!

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

The light was already shone on the WMD situation quite a while ago. It clearly revealed a rather large pile of cow feces in Washington DC.
Hey, it's good that this fucker has been captured and I hope he's strung up, but let's not get any illusions about the Bush Administration looking any better than it did 24 hours ago. The war was still started under false pretenses of a serious WMD threat, Shrubby's administration is still treating the "liberated" Iraq as their property, the Gulf War still has nothing to do with 9/11 despite all attempts to prove the contrary, and the Bush Administration is still cynically using both patriotism and the dangerous economic tactic of buying prosperity by borrowing from the future in order to curry favour with voters for 2004. And do you remember a guy named Osama Bin Laden?

I find Ironic that the Iraqi Communists were rejoycing the fact the US caught Saddam, while Hard core leftists here are now complaining that we should have never went to war and our capture of Saddam is morrally and leagally wrong.
