A name for my game

Post by Alan Bolte »

A few of my friends and I have been working on a tactical RPG for a while, we've basically got one coder doing the engine while the reast of us do content. The problem is, even after all this time, we haven't got a decent name for it.

The story is this: it's a long lost (millions of years) Earth colony which has forgotten its origins, principally because the original colonists were nuts who told their kids just short of nothing and lived a basic hunter-gatherer life. Your hero begins in a time and place similar to the european middle ages, but when he walks straight into a bronze age empire, it's pretty clear that something's not right. As it turns out, a prototype teleportation device invented tens of thousands of years later really fucked up his planet, and now certain unusual individuals are passing from one time to another when they walk across seemingly random bounderies. To make matters worse, some cult has seized upon the situation as the end of the world, and will do everything they can to hasten things along. So you build up your party with characters from pre-historic times, a world war-like era, and the three times mentioned above. Your primary mission is to disable the regional hubs for the time-bending teleportation devices on each continent, then go after the main system, while fending off insane cultists, hostile humans, and ravenous fauna. Magic is involved as the remnant of advanced genetic and cybernetic Earth tech.

So, if you guys have any ideas...

Spyder once had a fic titled Critical Reality. That name seems fitting, but I think you'll have to ask him first.

I really like Shattered Past though.

 That was great guys. Anyway, at great shock to me we're now getting a better plot from a new team, so I guess that'll be something. Took long enough.
