Juicers in a VtM campaign...

Post by FireNexus »

A friend of mine and I would like to adapt Juicers(chemically enhanced superhumans from Rifts RPG) to a VtM campaign which we're setting about 200 years in the future.

Basically, we want to have Juicers be in the employ of some agency or group that has a vested interest in striking the vamps down (he'll be Storytelling, I just came up with the idea).

However, we're trying to decide the best way to adapt the character to a VtM setting. We know we want them to have true faith, seeing as how the only person stupid enough to get the procedure done (it basically gives you a 5-7 year death clock) would be one who is fanatical about their cause, and is obviously faithful in the extreme that they're right.

We were considering giving them the ability to soak bash damage (their skin is generally tougher than normal human IIRC) and of course they get enhanced healing, having nanosurgeons in their bloodstream. Another possibility is giving them the equivalent of auspex 1 (heightened senses) varying levels of celerity and potence, and any other applicable discipline-like abilities.

That's all we've got. Does anyone have anything else to add? Remember: We want these to be a credible threat to reasonably powerful vampires (prefferably able to take an 8th or 9th gen vamp 1 on 1). Any help is kindly appreciated.
I had a Bill Maher quote here. But fuck him for his white privelegy "joke".

All the rest? Too long.

You know, they'd have to believe in something more than themselves to have True Faith. Its not a matter of being nuts. You can be nuts and think you have no limitations and are al-powerful but not have true faith, and vice versa.

According to the rules, they probably have no chance of matching any generic 8th/9th gen (and could we get an idea of just how long said characters are?). There are simply too many kinds of powers and character for them to take on. There will always be characters that can easily trash them. Additionally, 200 years more of weapons development will probably see some handheld nuke grenades (note: bad for your health, but don't get all excited, they only take out a few blocks), so they'll have to go up against serious firepower.

of course in 200 years from now the majority of the vampire population is likely going to be either extinct or under Caine's thumb. (Go time of judgement. w00t!)

True Faith = Belief in a supreme being or some form of spirituality. What you are describing is a Merit called Iron Will.

Also Can anyone inform me of where the Vampire games stand now in terms of the meta story? Is Caine coming back and what is this Judgment thing I see on some of the new books?

Gehenna comes in January. For the purpose of our campaign, it never happened. Ravnos didn't rise, though the time of Thin Blood was and is a reality.

I want the juicers to have true faith, so they will now believe in some form of spirituality. My understanding of what True Faith entailed was a bit off.

Anyway, back on subject: Based on knowledge of Rifts, how tough can I reasonably make juicers in the WOD?

If you want to get more detailed view of Faith and what powers God can grant his chosen Id suggest you buy Dark Age: Inquisitor.

Faith-based hunters most certainly comes off alot stronger with that supplement.

But to be honest its not really needed only if you are an Inquisitor-nut like me :D. A "neonate" Inquisitor is still not a match for a neonate Kindred but he wont be killed easily either.

If your juicers cant soak lethal damage they wont last long if you expect them to see any kind of heavy combat. And I think they qualify with your description.

IMHO Both the Inquisition or the Technocracy could well be their sponsor.
