Sorry, Shep, but such a superstate already existed in 1820, and it also encompassed much of France, Italy, Germany, Anatolia, Arabia, India, Brazil, Uruguay, and Polynesia. Highly authentic maps to follow shortly.

Not the Kiwis, I would think; their government is very hostile to nuclear weaponry. I remember reading in an old textbook that New Zealand barred a USN ship from a port in the 80s because it was carrying nuclear weapons, or something like that. Does anyone else remember that?

I wouldn't have minded a federated commonwealth back in the day (in fact it is what I plan to do once I get he kinks worked out of the time machine) made up of the dominions (Canada, Anzac, South Africa, Ireland) and maybe a few other members if we were able to retain enough power to keep them in line (while they were democratised) however currently I would prefer to be grouped with the Krauts than you Yanks ( at least with them the balance of power won't be horribly one sided).

If Russia ever asked to join the EU the boys in Brussels wouldn't have a clue what to do, Russia is far to big for the EU to fix unlike Ireland, Greece and Spain (and now Poland and the other members we are under taking), if the EU can get Eastern Europe running like clockwork (and a few more Russians die off in the meantime) then assimilation of Russia can go forward.

I find the actual flag appealing, anyway. AS long as they don't try to put more stars in it. Twelve is a number that traditionally represents harmony, as does a circle. It had nothing to do with the number of member states and it should remain unchanged.
