I've never heard this "Bush should have run out into the crosshairs!" line from anyone who wasn't a stereotypical liberal Bush-hater.
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

At this point, I don't care, as every president we've hadIlluminatus Primus wrote: Lay off it Shep. Don't be rediculous.
for the last few decades has always been pork-happy.
I'm cynical now that any president (even wonderboy
Dean) could be capable of actually saying no to pork.
Bush is however, not afraid to give the order to cause
our enemies to take a dirt nap, and that's what counts
for me.

He'll probably lose, and we'll get at least 2 more years of Republican control of two branches of government<sigh>. And what do you guys mean 'Democrats' are hoping that the economy will tank? Of course 'there exist' Democrats who hope the economy will tank. I'm sure that 'there exist' even Republicans who want the economy to tank (wierdos), but I wouldn't take this to represent the views of most democrats.
And Iceberg, what exactly do you mean about Dean being economically conservative?

Why would the President return to the White House on September 11? The Democrats who attempt to deride him as a coward for “running and hiding” are using the lowest of spineless political debating. The United States was under direct attack by a foreign power, and Washington D.C was both targeted AND hit. The President’s job was to remove himself and his cabinet from a possible combat zone, reserve and protect the chain of command, and make sure the Federal government was still function-able.
When the capital is attacked the President does not sit in the White House and assure the American people that every thing is ok. His job is to get on an airplane, fly to an undisclosed location, and determine a proper course of retaliation to a definite act of war. He is not to sit in the biggest target in the entire capital.

Who was the one who went on MSNBC saying the space program was a waste of money?Iceberg wrote:The top Democratic choices are Clark (centrist), Dean (centrist leaning left on social issues and right on economic ones), Gephardt (a friend of mine who lives in MO refers to Gephardt as a "ghetto king") and Kerry (ringer for an exhibit at Madame Toussaud's). Beyond those four, the rest are just taking up space on the dais.

Maybe I didn't read it correctly. But hard-core leftist democrats on places like the Democratic underground (as shown earlier) are afraid that a strong economy will give Bush victory 2004. And These hard-core dems are the very people Howard Dean and the Democrats are trying to court.
I'd ask you to back up this claim Dean is trying to court these hard core democrats, but concidering the "proof" you posted before, it would be pointless.

I belive that most liberals will find something wrong with every decision that Bush makes, no mater how smart or stupid it might be. Other than conversations with liberals that I know, I don't have any proof, but I can't imagine being too far off the mark.
