Supremes continue Drug War...

Post by MKSheppard »

Hear about the recent Sup. Ct. ruling; 9-0 unamious that says the
cops can arrest EVERYONE in a car/house if drugs are found in said
car/house?

Clear evidence of the traitorous, liberal bias in the Supreme Court. Anne Coulter is right, SCOTUS needs to go.

Oh, grand. When do the cops get the authority to just seize everyone's property on a whim if there's a suspicion of involvement with drugs?

They already can do that. They're called asset forefiture laws, though SCOTUS recently rolled a lot of them back.

As for this ruling, it's really no different from saying the cops can arrest everyone in a car if they find an unliscensed handgun or stolen property inside (or an open container of alcohol, for that matter). Unless I'm mistaken about this, the police have always had the power to arrest everyone in a car or house if contraband is present. Whether or not they can CHARGE everyone is a different matter. At any rate, the problem is that you can go to jail for possessing drugs, not that the police can exercise boad powers if they find contraband in a vehicle or home.

So, would it be safe to say that it's ironic that such an anti-marijuiana bill has been ruled legal when it's basically rolling the Consitution into a huge joint and smoking it?

Smoking the Constitution would be enlightening. The Drug War is hardly enlightened.

Actually it is for just vehicles not for the home situation. This won't affect you if you don't go around riding with people that have drugs in their vehicle.

OT, I thought this thread had something to do with Diana Ross making an anti-drug message.

Damn, I needa get some nachos, man. And a burger, and a couple tacos, and some chips, and a hotdog - no, TWO hotdogs - and some fried chicken, and some... uh... y'know, what was that we used to eat all the time, back in the '70s? Oh yeah.... pussy.*
