And its been built and the burn-in cycle completed...

The distributors fucked up - in a good way.

P4-2.8C 800MHz FSB instead of the standard 2.6...

Whoa, that's pretty cool. I don't have much of a clue what it meant, but it was very impressive.

Isn't that a waste on the FSB? I could be wrong but my understanding of PC architecture is when you set the FSB everything must go on that including your RAM (3200 which is 400fsb) So your 800fsb processor and mobo will be running at half what it is capable of....

Dual channel DDR400 == 800.

You sure?

Now that's a nice fuckup. Now all I need to do is build me one. I already accidentally got a 60gig HDD when I meant to grab an 80 at Best Buy, so eventually the Karmic imbalance will rectify itself. Oh wait, I'm getting a Geforce4Ti4600 for free in the mail, so I guess that's my Karmic Lightning Bolt of the Month.

Dual channel DDR400 != 800.
Yes, actually, it does. The K8, G5 and P4C all use that trick to get huge amounts of memory bandwidth.

On the K7 you can do dual-channel DDR400 but since the processor FSB is only 400MHz it's not really that important in that instance.

Well regardless, is he using that? Just says DDR3200...

He could be using two 256MB DDR400 sticks.
