Should I rewrite the main site frontpage?

Keep the Imperial Recruiter/propaganda fiction bit, it's cute.

It's much more fun than the political overdrama of G2k's page or the "rate my poo" intro of that SWvST site.

Give it unique character. Do what you want, but that's my 2 cents...

Yeah, that's my problem with a more serious approach. The subject can be taken seriously AS A GAME, but only as a game, with "seriousness" merely being the importance of playing fair. When people start to treat it as something more than a mere game (as Darkstar does), then it's actually a little disturbing.

It might be disturbing, but it shouldn´t be your problem.

The site shouldn´t become boring just for political correctness.

It's more of an idea for the whole site, I suppose, but you could always have the whole thing as "just the facts" but with the occasional boxed part which is something like "Imperial officer says...", just for a fun and obviously biased slant on the info already presented.

I like the preliminary idea. It's cool, like the old one.

When I first saw the page my first thought was 'WTF is this?' (I had no real clue about SW vs. ST), but after a few seconds I considered the main page as real cool. So I started reading the whole site.

I think that in the end the page should preserve its basic 'look and feel' which distinguishes it from other pages out there. If some idiots think that this is offensive and inacceptable, it is there own problem.

The slightly modified prototype mainpage is up at http://www.stardestroyer.net/Empire/index-new.html although I'm still looking for more recruiting images (and the picture of "Jarren Korr" is used without permission; if anyone can find me a generic Imperial officer that was not seen in the movies and can be used with permission, I'd be grateful).

PS. Lately, whenever I update a page I try to make sure it's w3c-compliant, so you'll start seeing w3c compliance logos in the page footers.

So when do I join "An Empire of One"?

And as for Specialist Korr...wouldn't it make more sense to have someone with fewer rank squares as a Specialist? Isn't that like an Admiral or something? (End Pointless Nitpick)

I like the new version though. Very nice, and is actually more humorous than the old one.

Unfortunately, fan-made uniforms tend to be high-ranking officers. If anybody can find a better picture, I'd appreciate it.

Looks good. Especially the bit with the testimonial. I'm not sure that bolding and enlarging the first part of each paragraph is necessary. But I'm just nitpicking.
