I've never really built up my fleet that much. Most of the money from the military spending increases went to the defense grid. The only major thing I did was re-build my losses and construct 50 new capital ships of various classes.

No, if he wants to build up tons of forces we simply assume they are proportionally crap.

I havn't built up "Tons of forces." Fifty new capships is hardly "Tons of forces".

Actually, turning out fifty capital warships when all the other nations have produced a dozen at most is a ton of forces compared to every one else.

Most of them are small patrol destroyers. You know, the kind everyone has tons of.

Then they aren't capital warships and it's less of a problem. To save us all a lot of trouble why don't you make a formal declaration of just what you have built.

Should have clarified that a little. I refer to any non-starfighter or transport as a Capital ship

How about breaking it down like this?

1. Defense grid around twenty of my major worlds.

2. Recap of losses from Azgarte campaign

3. 40 new patrol craft and ten new ships of the line.

How does that work?

Understandable confusion since most of us are using proper naval terminology which means anything equal or over a large cruiser (ie large, heavy, protected, armored, etc) are considered capital warships and vessels light cruiser and below are not. So you probably confused a lot of people when you said you had added fifty capital vessels.

I'd prefer a definite break down of ships you can always do that over AIM/PM if you wish. But I'd like to know exactly what you've accomplished to avoid any confusion. Keep in ming you have to declare them one way or the other.

My rebuilding is progressing nicely. Planetary defenses are back online, and we have replaced most of our Mako patrol ships and merchant marine.

Our battle fleet is also coming along nicely, and a SWesque battlegroup is due off the assembly lines soon...

And, Xenomorphs are to be incorporated int our starhip marine, as is there right as AU citizens... they will be armed with standard equipment, modified for their anatomy

Alyrium, you realize that your economy has been through two wars and invasions and if you want to go mass building it's going to be fast and dirty.

Uh, is this upcoming war something I need to pay attention to? I'm allied to Thirdfain and Darksider to some extent, but I haven't had any contact near my new homeworld. (Consider it somewhere on the edge of inhabited space) Oh, and if I do get involved, bear in mind that I won't be able to deploy ground forces to any significant degree, all my eggs are in one basket (The navy and orbital defences/ground arrays)

Depends. Contact the Commonwealth's Senate with any questions you might have.

They are beng build slowly, and staggered. The Makos are so modular that they can be built fast and cheap with out problms, many of them are privatly owned and are simply on call for military service(like british liners in WW1)

The other stuff, well, they are being bult within reasonable time constraints. They wont be done overly quick. Soon is subjective.

Pay attention to? Yes, always keep an eye on any wars brewing in the game.

Get involved with? Not necessarily. It depends mostly on whether you wish to get involved.

Thirdfain, you realize that Darksider was far too far away to get any decent records right?

There was a Commonwealth fleet heading in-system as well. And who said everything I broadcast has to be true?

Besides, a larger fleet like the Cornerian one present would have tossed out some very clear signals.

True, but I want the lies to be honest ones. :)

Yeah, it would have. But you would do to remember that fleet was also engaged in saving the asses of my VFP.

Didn't look like it from the view of the 5000 or so Stuartian spacers who have died the True Death, does it? The Cornerians did commit an atrocity, and not even a particularly stealthy one.

Keep in mind the difference in the game between what you believe and what you can prove. The Stuarts are dead, and dead men don't tell tales very well.

I've got my first and third fleets in the sector of your former territory I have occupied as well as a local milita I built up by buying ships from other nations.

I've got a write up for the various fleets on my computer at home. But I can't get to it. I'll try and be as accurate as I can.

First Fleet:

2 Invincible class dreadnaughts

4 Onslaught class battleships

10 Glory-II Class cruisers

20 Defender Class Frigates

50 Argo class patrol destroyers

Third Fleet:

3 Invincible Class dreadnaughts

6 Onslaught class battleships

20 Glory-II class cruisers

30 Defender Class frigates

60 Argo class patrol destroyers

Local Milita Fleet:

four frigates

two carriers

one command battleship

and several wings of planet based fightercraft.

I don't know the class names for the Milita ships but I bought some of them from the TSC, some from the Corprate sector and one from the SKS.

Those are in my occupied sectors, everything else is at home.

And several new ships are under construction.

I have the expeditionary force (See STGOD main thread) in Azegart territory, floating around, and everything else in either in near New Mecca or patrolling that system.
