GunBound

Post by Slartibartfast »

Anyone heard of this game? It's like a multiplayer online Scorched Earth or Worms (with about worms WT graphic quality), two teams composed of tanks, each one with their own special attacks. As you play you get money and your ranking goes up, and you can buy powerups like a Japanese RPG (armor, helmet, etc)

You can get the game here, and then you have to register, you have a buddy list and all. Maybe we could even make some SD.Net clan ;)

I've played, and still do... Metal axe.

Handle is the same as the one here.

I play on an off too. 4 or 5 battles every couple days, etc.
It's nice tho that it's not THAT important to play 24/7 like MMORPGs, leveling up and crap. There's always "avatar off" servers even if it really gets bad.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

It's not really Shareware. I think it's a open free beta. Probably will stop being free after it's the final version (hopefully not), but I guess I'll play it as long as it stays free :)

It mainly depends on how much money they receive in donations to determind whether or not the game remains free.

For those of you wondering donations enable the donating players to receive much additional funding to buy gear for their avaters.

Only that this one is actually worth something as a game ;) production values are pretty close (if not superior) to one of the later 2d Worms games.

Only if you ignore the poor netcode, annoying interface, chancy hit detection, freaky-assed Boomer physics, annoying Trico shot changes (fire to left: #2 comes out horizontally. Fire to the right: Comes out perpindicular to your angle), mobiles desparately in need of balancing, broken/missing features, poor translations, and mostly-worthless items.

I still play it, though. :D

Once you get used to the overshoot, the baby is nearly unbeatable. Except for the fact that the entire other team seems to gang up on poor dragon :(
