We're supposed to list ground forces too?
Occupation force (Deployed to my area of former Azegart space)
1 billion Krytosian Imperial Marines
KIMs are my best troops. they are heavily trained and equipped.
20 billion Krytosian army troops
These are average soldiers. they are recruited and professionally trained, but I can draft people if I need to
I've also got 10 million of each on loan to the forces policing the Azegart empire. (i'm assuming they're under thirdfain's control.)
I've got tens of billions of troops on my home colonies

Well, my fleet's are where their name says they are. Except Fast Response Fleet, which is currently in Aregath space.

An unusual two thirds of the Black Alliance's forces are back home, up to.. Something.
The remaining third is the large force the Cornerian's narrowly avoided. Yes, the Alliance is fully willing to use massive overkill to get what they want.

Can you be a little more specific than that. I'm trying to avoid any "But my whole fleet was in hiding, mwaha ha ha ha." kind of affairs.Dahak wrote:Well, my fleet's are where their name says they are. Except Fast Response Fleet, which is currently in Aregath space.

Well, as their names suggest, they are in the systems named. They are in mostly in orbit or clsoe to the Planet(s) in the system they're guarding. Some units are within the planets atmosphere, and on patrol in the outer regions (mostly light cruisers and destroyers). The system patrol craft, frigates, and the other small fry are on normal patrol duty throughout their systems.Stormbringer wrote:Can you be a little more specific than that. Now the Fleets all are on high alert, ready to jump to anywhere in Staurtian Space within seconds.

How long before I can have my superdreadnaught up and running?
I'm building at peacetime levels right now, (Five capships a year + the SD, 10 capships without the SD and anywhere from 20 to 40 patrol craft.)
but if war does break out, i'll shift to wartime levels (15 capships a year, 10 with the SD and fifty patrol craft.)

Beowulf? Do those navy personell talking know that it was really you who ambushed the ships?
Ambusing and destroying diplomatic vessels is a perfect reason to demand repartions and even to declare war.

Who says they've thrown themselves on the side of the PRC? All they're doing so far is prepare for a potential war, one which could easily spill over into the war.Thirdfain wrote:I'm curious, Stormbringer- why is your power suddenly aligning itself with the PRC? They haven't even spoken with you, much less done anything which would warrent you throwing in your lot with them.
Purely OOC curiousity- the Affront is your power to play as you will, of course.

Story reason is probably because the Affront made prior contact with Azegarters in exile, and Azegart was pro-PRC. Real reason is probably because Stormbringer (the player in control) trusts Beowulf more than he trusts you. The mentality of the player has the major role in RP gaming.Thirdfain wrote:I'm surious, Stormbringer- why is your power suddenly aligning itself with the PRC? Look at your own nation. You've been pro free trade in every STGOD we've tried on this forum thus far--even in this game, when (arguably) mercantilist policies are of the greatest benefit. You've always been aligned with Alyrium's faction. Alyrium, incidentally, has always played super-liberal space hippies with a hard-on for genetic engineering.
Me, I pride myself on having less predictability. In these STGODs I've played a revolutionary republic, a Muslim theocracy, and a semi-benevolent slaveocracy. On ASVS I played corporate moneygrubbers (with a conscience, of course ), galactic park ranger conservationists, and an evil supervillain bent on destroying the universe.
Of course... I'm sure I have some obnoxious idiosyncrasies that I don't notice.

No. Sleep is for the dead.Beowulf wrote:Jesus Christ, can't a guy get some sleep with out a week going by gametime?
EDIT:
Guys, can I just say that my favorite part of STGODs is the diplomacy? Beowulf's official response to the allegations: "Actually, my navy is just so incompetent that we allowed an entire task force to be captured intact by pirates. Sorry."

Inarguably true.
To be honest, I would have gladly stuck with Stormbringer back in the beginning. I spent a lot of time thinking about how I was going to play it from there. What I ended up doing seemed to be the best way to put myself in a position of power- and I'd like to say, with only minimal autofellatio, that my efforts succeeded spectacularly, making me a galactic leader with a cadre of loyal allies.

Sigh. God only knows why, ridiculous space hippy that he is.You've always been aligned with Alyrium's faction.
Explain. Why do you believe mercantilist policies to be the best bet? You've been pro free trade in every STGOD we've tried on this forum thus far--even in this game, when (arguably) mercantilist policies are of the greatest benefit.

That does it. I'm getting paranoid.
I'm setting up various back-up plans in action in case I get stabbed in the back by my "Allies"

Hey,
If you want loyal allies you won't find better than the Affront and myself. Unlike Thirdfain I'm not about to use and discard allies.

I can't argue with that. Your nation is largely responsible for arranging the current Tripolar (Grand Alliance, Entente Cordiale, HAB-PRC Axis of Evil) state of the game.Thirdfain wrote:Inarguably true.

For the same reason that mercantilism was effective in a period of real life history. There are vast, untapped, and largely unclaimed stretches of space from which you can extract natural resources virtually without limit. The best thing to do is to play the same game as the British did after the rennaissance. Grab as much territory as you can lay hands on and exploit the hell out of it. The markets in other countries aren't overly developed at this stage in the game, making Free Trade not as attractive as it might otherwise be.Explain. Why do you believe mercantilist policies to be the best bet?

Wow. That makes a great deal of sense. Hmm.For the same reason that mercantilism was effective in a period of real life history. Hey, we never were allied on paper- we just cooperated in the mutual rape of an unsuspecting power. If you want loyal allies you won't find better than the Affront and myself. Unlike Thirdfain I'm not about to use and discard allies.
Fortunatly, the GA has my loyalty on paper.
