In the last year, the human population in this area had grown, but only because the population in another area has gotten smaller.... And who is this Fael person? We would speak with them, if you would allow it."

As the voice stops, you hear a rustleing in the bushes behind you. A beautifull female wood-elf steps out. She is wearing typical druidic clothes (fur), and is carrying a sword that appears to be made from the teeth of a very large creature.

She speaks, but the raspy-echo is gone, and she sounds like a normal wood elf.

"Come. You will not be permitted to stay in the forest long, if you wish to meet the messengers we have much ground to cross and very little time to cross it."

She turns a few degrees to the left, and walks off into the forest, expecting you to follow........

The elf leads you over miles of thick forest, moving with seeminly impossible speed through the underbrush. After 2 hours, you are all dead tired, and on the verge of colapse....when you arrive.

You arrive at a camp, where you see 3 dozen or so kobods sitting around. It is built in a natural cleaering, and actually looks nice (unlike 100% of other kobolds camps.)

The kobolds look up at you, and scamper away. One of them wearing half-plate walks up.

Kobold: grrr. Why are they here?!
Wood-elf: They wised to see you, we felt it would be wise to grant their request.
Kobold: Well? Speak elf!

"Well, frankly, the raids on the human settlements need to end. In return we will see if we an pursuade the humans to curtail their use of the forest, using non-wook building materials like mud brick. We really dont know your motivation for being here, so we cannot go further than that without more information"

"Well, humans, though they are young and hotheaded, are reasonable. They choose areas like this because it is a reasonably safe and beautiful place to raise their children. It is completely possible for the humans to live very comfortably with a house constructed of cross-timbers, and mudbrick instead of a fully log house for example. Such a house would be easier to keep warm in the winter, and does not harm the forest as much. Also, survival on a small garden plot in a natural clearing, with light hunting and fishing, is much better than clearcutting for commnal farmland."
