I'm a comedy fan.

I would reccomend Spaceballs, Naked Gun, Happy Gilmore, or My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

I also like action moves. The James Bond films, Independence Day, Armageddon, Die Hard, Air Force One, that kind of stuff.

And Mike, is there such a thing as Star Whores?

Army of Darkness is Evil Dead 3.
Also one of the funniest horror movies and the best damn use of skeletons I've ever seen. :D
I know that. It's just usually not in the same place as the other two and doesn't actually have Evil Dead in it's title. So I thought I'd put that in there for the benefit of the unelightened.

I didn't like the Matrix. I really can't see why everyone thought it was such a great movie.

I can't believe I forgot to mention the original Men in Black, though. That was one of the greatest comedies ever made. I would also highly recommend Beverly Hills Cop.

Yes this movie does exists, although it looks like a low grade amateur porn from what I saw of the catalogue ad. There may be a better version out there, but don't expect to see any big name porn stars in it. As part of my Canada Customs job I became well acquainted with porn and screened it on a daily basis.

Here's a good one I throughly enjoyed, John Carpenter's The Thing.

One of the best horror films ever made.

As for porno movies, Embrace the Darkness III is good.

It has an interesting plot, good acting, and great sex scenes, including two lesbian scenes.

The Breed is another good film, a vampire movie with a twist.

Bram Stoker's Dracula, in my view, is one of the best Dracula films ever created.

And can't forget the classic Blair Witch Project. :D

The best ones are the vignette movies, usually composed of three or four "short story" scenes, in which each scene has a short (preferably light-hearted) setup before the action. In the good ones, everyone looks like they're enjoying themselves (instead of the guys enjoying themselves and the girls being subjected to abusive put-downs, slapping, hair-pulling, etc).

I think the plot-driven Euro-stuff tends to be better, but the European gonzo stuff often tends toward misogyny or quasi-gynecological close-ups of gaping body cavities. The Sodomania series is pretty good. Most "Gangbang Girl" movies are abusive (although #14 was good). You never know what you're going to get, and the box-cover is pretty much useless from a prediction standpoint.

The problem with porn is that most customers seem to be lonely or frustrated men. They either have no women in their lives or they have women but they aren't satisfied with their sex lives, so they look for the misogynistic, abusive stuff. All of that power-tripping hair-pulling stuff turns them on.

There ya go: my dissertation on porn. But the rest of you probably knew most of that already; you just didn't have the guts to admit you watch the stuff
That was waaaay too much information.
It's not his fault you can't cope with a discussion about pornography in a mature fashion.

They aren't movies but I'm going to post this anyway:

Neon Genesis: Evangelion; starts out as a 'Big Robot' series, ends up with man defeating God. Has 3 diferant endings, one t.v. 2 movie

Hellsing; The world has vampires in it, some of them are made by humans via technology, the Hellsing Institute fights to protect the population of england from them. the main charaters are:

Sir Integra winsgate Hellsing, leader of the institutem she's a decendent of the Van Helsing from Bram's book

Alucard (or Arucard); A 'Real' Vampire, age unknown. Extreamly powerful, he serves his 'master' Integra by destroying the 'FreakChip' Vampires. Has a pair of pistol/cannons that are 'to much gun for any human' the 354 Casal that fire 13mm (yes 13mm) blessed silver bullets, and the M2 Jackel that fires 13mm mecury ignition HE/HV bullets (also silver).

Ceras (Celes) Victoria: a british swat team member (D11) her whole team was killed by a vampire who took her hostage, Alucard killed the Vamp by shooting through her (with her permission), he then offered to make her like him to save her. Now a 'real' vampire, (complete with an eye color change from blue to red) she joined Hellsing at first as a sniper. Shes generally cluless about her vampire nature, most of the troops are better breifed than she is on her abilities. Her current weapon is the 30mm 'Haconnen' antimidion canon, that fires either DU or INC shells.

Paladin Anderson Alexander; A member of the 'Iscariot' (Vatican Vampire hunters) scottish, fanatical catholic, completely insane, hates Alucard beyond the mere hatred of an 'unclean monster', has killed human members of Hellsing before, weilds a near endless supply of Pope blessed long knives and possesses a faulty freak chip that doesn't require blood as a fuel source but allows him to regenerate injuries, including a point blank shot to the head from Alucard

I'll post more shows later when I get more 'fine' to the brain

I would like to see:

The Majestic (Jim Carey makes me laugh, but it would be interesting to see him in a serious role. He showed flashes of his ability to do serious in The Truman Show).

Star Trek: Nemesis: Because I'm a Trekkie, and I think it looks good :P

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers: looks fantastic.

Die Another Day: Because Bond is always super cool :)

I'd also like to see Lilo and Stitch, when it comes out to rent. I'll probably rent the new Harry Potter movie as well.

Yes, I know I am a sick bastard. I have been told so by Mr Bean and various other people that you don't know.

I don't really have many recommendations, but NO ONE should see The Musketeer. My friend took us there for his promotion party to junior editor. It SUCKED. I stared at the screen as the first few credits rolled by, then said in an awed voice, "Wow. That was... horrible."

Ugh, dont remind me. You are talking about the recent movie by that name right? *shudders* baaaad movie, you could tell where they cut out scenese, theyd change really abruptly, and the fight on the side of the tower (which looked cool in the trailer) was just a bunch of guys flailing at each other. The calvary charge against the castle artillery reminded me of Charge of the Light Brigade.

Actually, when I saw it in the theater with my friends, the side-talk was pretty funny. When the little horse-and-buggy was escaping and it was clear that the footsoldiers would have been able to catch it if they had bothered to chase after it, I said, "Sacre bleau! They're leaving our jurisdictional area. Now we won't be able to prosecute them," in a snooty French accent.

That, and everyone was making fun of the girl for being so unattractive when the movie clearly needed something.

Also "Kung Pao Enter the Fist” the dubbing is hilarious

I just saw this swedish porn called Ridskolan. I didn't understand a word of it, but it was the funniest porn movie i have ever seen. If you took out all of the detailed sex, it would still be a pretty funny movie. All the girls were regular lookin chicks cuz you get tired of poroxide blonds and saline boobs.
Got it off the internet. And Wong said the net was no good for porn.
