What famous/historical person are you related to?

Post by Shinova »

It's a thread at SB and I thought it'd be interesting if it was asked here too.

What famous/historical person or people are you related to? For example, one guy over there at SB was related to Gregor Mendell, father of genetics.

I guess that's the kind of famous or historical we're looking for, though a person of less stature is okay too. So, what famous or historical person or people are you related to?

For me, I have no idea.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Um, some of my ancestors were French pirates. Not famous ones, but it's still cool to say. :D

I believe that my great-great-great-great-great grandfather was personal secretary to George Washington, and considering that my mother's side probably has hundreds of descendants, and my great-grandfather was one of four sons whose lineage my family hasn't traced, I wouldn't be surprised if there were others.

Our family is connected to a few minor Irish and English nobles from back in the day but that's about it.

Oh and we're also connected somewhat to a Italian mob family, don't ask how that's the report of my cousin that lives in Rome.

By God! King of Ulster? Truly a giant among men! Mighty empires quiver at his passing!

Nah, that's cool. My ancestors were Neapolitan peasants, so I can't really talk.

I just found the idea of King Fergus to be the most entertaining bit of it....

Amazing. I don't have the stuff on me right now, but one of my great-aunts was very much interested in geneaology and composed huge family trees. It's a pretty distant relation, but the Boone family is in there...

Of course, going back further, she found that the family was also related to Sir Thomas More.
