Then they'll control, what, twenty-one galaxies?
Til the Lost tackle them in a massive war that burns a few hundred Galaxies to little more than dust.
Lets just remeber the last time someone (Transcend) tried open warfare with the Imperium, It didn't end to well for him. Every star and planet in his galaxy destroyed with gravitonic warheads. They fight to win, and they fight dirty.

I think I'd survive the initial hit by having more stars and planets than you have warheads, actually...

I don't know. I remember my fleet sizes being ridiculous, on the order of tens of million of planetoids, I'm sure I could cause a lot of damge before we fell into a stalemate. It would be very ugly, for both sides.

Like I said. It'd probably, eventually, become a stalemate. Of course, no one with sense would want to get close enough to find out. And by 'Close enough to find out', I mean 'In the same universe'.

Painfully so. Painfully. Day before Christmas always is. Presents is wrapped, tree is lit... Maybe I should go finish X-2.

Since I'm flipping through the OOBs again, remember folks, if you declared dozens of Dreadnoughts and you wander into battle with someone who declared less than a half-dozen at game start, you will probably get your ass soundly, painfully, incredibly kicked.

How many "Dozens" do you mean? I had about fifteen at the start.

Well, in a one-on-one, they'd probably get run over by those who had less than six, but I was specifically speaking of the PRC who had seventy-two dreadnoughts to start. When you have more dreadnoughts than most have cruisers, something is wrong.

72????

you're right. Somthing dosen't add up there.

As for the people who had less than six, well.... that's why i'm developing my new superdreadnaught.

72 capital ships seems like a lot ... I only have three battleships (and soon three battlecruisers, but they're not supposed to fight other BB/DNs).

Depends on how tough those capital ships are. Remember that they're protionally weaker ships than your three or my five.

2 questions:

1. Alyrium, do you speak for the KSE and the Stuart corp?

2. What makes you think I EVER had a formal alliance with the Azegart? I sure as hell never did. It's on the record- we worked together for the same goal, true enough, but no documents were ever signed.

I do... I got their permission to ake a joint post on the matter.

No documents need be signed for an alliance of that sort.

No hard feelings... this is socio-political. My nation cannot grow while in such an alliance.

As the Azegart player, I know we never had a formal alliance. But the point of an alliance is being able to trust that nation. If that isn't there the treat might as well have been magic markered on toilet paper.

-shrug- I hardly call the gaggle of scaveging vultures falling on a drastically underarmed and unprepared foe an "Alliance." The action against the Aquarians was no more than an agreement to attack at the same time and keep to ourselves as we savaged the Union.

Trust? I sure as hell didn't trust any of the other powers present. Not without a signed agreement.

Dude, you have 9 major systems. Most of the other powers have between 30-40.

Also they are never in any sort of pack of less than 4. I was going for a "Quantity has a quality all it's own" but that seems to not have worked. If I'm expecting to meet other capital ships, I'd be using a full fleet, which would be roughly 1/6 of the dreadnoughts, which would compare rather favorably to those of other nations.
