I found SD.net a couple of months before the board was up, around the end of spring. I was reading Saxton's Technical Commentaries and found a link here.

I was pointed towards SD.net in Feburary of 2000 and I checked on it a couple times a year since then. Then I heard about the forums and popped in a month after they opened. The rest is history.

I first saw the Site when I was hunting Fanfic, back in early 2000. Read the rest of the site and enjoyed it.

I found this site after Mike's guest spot in Wayne's Hate Mail page. Don't remember the date, but ti was still when Conquest was being put up. I'd figure '99 since I wasn't in HS at the time...

And I think, by now, we know the story of my two user names. :)

I can't actually remember why i first came to SD.Net, i thinki saw a link to it somewhere and was intregued. Going by the "Whats New" page i'm estimating that was somewhere between April and September in 2001. After that i bookmarked the page, even if the main reason was to see if there would be any new hate mail.

AoTC trial discussion boards went up and i made a few posts, then the fully fledged message board went up and i psigned up on the first day.

EDIT: Remembered where i got the link from. I was over at the SW Galaxies board and there was a STvsSW debate and someone linked to SD.Net.

Sometime in 2000, searching on a library computer for Stardestroyers on Yahoo after I had been to Saxton's SWTC site, it was the first link.

Found it when hunting for SWRPG material. Got intrigued, began my hunt for ASVS afterwards. Took me a long time to figure out how to use newsgroups.

Always liked the giant wedge-shaped ships with gobs-o-guns, so found this website through a search engine. Mike had his fanfic posted, which I really enjoyed. Also learned a lot about hyperspace travel and turbolasers, pleasantly surprised at the whoopazzTM effect when compared to the Trekkie universe (Federation types and such). Later, I saw he added a forum -- wasn't interested until I saw a fellow named Darkstar raising a ruckus, so decided to hop on in to see if the water was warm...

Yeah, I found the site looking at ST vs SW stuff several years ago and I've been a fairly regular visitor ever since.

In the year 2001 I found a link to Stardestroyer.net in a magazine article, a real paper magazine that has nothing to do with ST vs SW. Then I visited, was very impressed by the site and read the whole site in a week.

The next time I visited was in 2002. I noticed that the forums were up but choosed to lurk rather than particitipate. I did register eventualy and the rest is history.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Long time reader of the site, and then the board when it went up. Only just started actual posting.

Why the wait? Lack of my own personal time, and besides I'm not too interested in actually debating Wars Vs Trek, it seems like beating a dead dog to me. I mainly follow it for the "hey look at this idiot" kinda view. Also the numbers make my head hurt sometimes ... I'm a media whore damnit ... not a numbers person.

SFX? They ran an article on good Sci-fi webpages back around that time.

I first found this site somewhere between September and November of 1999. I was doing a search of Star Wars sites and there it was. Up until that time, I never had any clue that there ever was a Star Wars vs Star Trek debate going around.

I don't recall exactly when I discovered SD.Net, but it was years before the forum was up.

I don't know who locked this thread and placed it in the Testing Forum for deletion, but that is against board rules. This thread is not in any violation and the mod who did this did not leave their calling card behind. This thread is to remain open.

People, continue as you were.

I came after having known about the site for about a year, and then finding out about the board, then waiting a few months.

I did a Yahoo! search for AT-ATs back in '99 or '00 and I stumbled upon the Weapons page. Checked back regularly ever since.

Sure did. I mean I've only ever used the forum on and off anyway, and now I've come back it seems to have more rules and ways of doing things.

When I first came here I think Mr. Wong was not sure if he should even introduce mods... ah, how power corrupts. :P :D

I was looking over google or yahoo for the explantation for some treknology at around the year 2000 that I found far fetched and I stumbled upon this site. Before coming to this site I never tought about trek vs wars. After that I'd come back every once in a while for updates.
