I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

HAHhahA suck it down idiots!Muslim and non-Muslim experts say concerns are overblown. To complain about Sharia hints at racism against a community that feels under siege after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, lawyers said.

There is no reason to be paranoid about it. Muslim personal law is a way to settle certain things according to an Islamic way. It is not a penal code like the Sharia. Muslims can either choose to follow it or ignore it. It is something like an advisory thing.
Muslim personal law is found in many non muslim countries. Because some legal solutions are unacceptable muslims due to religious reasons they turn these laws. For example in India muslim personal law handles the issue of ineheritence differently in case muslims from hindus.

I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Muslim Shariat law is not coming to Canada, dumb-asses. This is nothing but binding arbitration. The idea is that both parties voluntarily agree beforehand to abide by the rulings of the Muslim court, and then its ruling becomes binding. I could do the same thing by setting up the Court of Random Judgement in my backyard, if I could get both parties to sign contracts agreeing to abide by the judgements I make via my dartboard and a case of beer.

Hey now THAT is a neat idea. You should do that, just for fun. I support Mike Wong for Magistrate of the Court of Random Judgement!Darth Wong wrote:Muslim Shariat law is not coming to Canada, dumb-asses. This is nothing but binding arbitration. No it does not work that way. The muslim personal law is not a penal code. Neither can it be enforced like the Shariah.kojikun wrote:Unless they sign an agreement before hand that such would be an acceptable punishment for theft should they commit it.evilcat4000 wrote:That is exactlly what I am saying. Actually, a contract is not legally binding if it has unlawful purpose. Punishments which are illegal under the criminal code of Canada would not be enforceable by the courts.kojikun wrote:Unless they sign an agreement before hand that such would be an acceptable punishment for theft should they commit it.evilcat4000 wrote:That is exactlly what I am saying. Canada is getting a Islamic version of Judge Judy ... is it televised?Darth Wong wrote:Muslim Shariat law is not coming to Canada, dumb-asses. This is nothing but binding arbitration.
