When I arrive near the site, I keep a sensible distance from it and try to stay behind other buildings. I try to look where it might have come from.

I run over to the mill, and trace the line of fire over to the Kobals last location, and run over there. I then look for the little bastard

As I see Tsaroth run for the woods, I follow him, and cast invisibility on me.

Saw dust dosn't burn, it explodes. and the building contaned a great deal of lumber anyway. Fortuntily for you, the mill was built outside just incase it exploded.

The mill is a smokeing crater. And the fields around it are on fire.

As you look, you see the tiny figure of a kobolds running away from the town through the fields, as he runs, another fireball streaks away from him and hits the area where the improvment are being made to the wall. There are shouts and screams of pain as the explosion hits.

Realizing that he's been detected, the kobolds turns and runs. (it's obvious that he's now into the "run" part of "hit and run".)

There are two tremendous explosions, and the kobold is incinerated.

Once again, there is a short pause.

Then his staff of fireball finally realized that it had just been snapped in half.

There is a brillant flash and a deafening boom. Any charachter outside the wall is throws off their feet, and hear nothing but a ringing in their ears for the next five minuets. There is a flaming crater where the kobold was, and all the fields on that side of town are ablaze.

Tsaroth gets up... and curses his inability to keep the staff of fireball... after he can hear of course.

He then gets back to supervising the repairs of the wall, and the reinforcements.

Status, Mill: Nothing left but ashes. 11 people killed.
Status, Wall: Minor damage to wall moves us a little behind schedule. 4 people killed, 2 wounded.
Status, overall: FIELDS ON FIRE slows down all efforts as the fires are kept contained.

Stopping the urge within him to pursue the kobolds into the ground, Grozny stops himself from chasing after the Kobolds where he could easily be ambushed.

Keenan slowly gets back up, and walks/half staggers to the remaining wall and TSaroth, and lifts his invisibility.
"YOU still have this ringin in your ears, eye?" He half shouts. "It will be more interesting than previously thought..."

Finding Tsaroth, after hes ragained the ability to hear, "Might I suggest we try and make the defences in such a way that we create funnel points, so that the men of the town can target their arrows in to areas they know they can hit, and so your fireballs will be more effective."

"No," shouts Grozny,"Lines of stakes, ditches, hell piles of horse manure if we have too, just make it so that they have tocome at us from certain directions, so we get the men good at hitting an area and the enemy will likely be there."

To Spark I say "See, this is what I mean."

Running over to Tasoth (inside the walls I was) I say, "Get a familiar to talk to the Druids about this, and ask where the Fael came from originally! I'll escort tthe women, children, and elderly to the safety of another town. If you need it I can leave wands here for the defenders to use."

BTW, is my wagon ready?

Frankly, we need you here. You will be attacked in the woods in all likelyhood. Though the wands will come in handy. I only have a few more heavy battlespells I can cast left today, and my numbers of them otherwise are also a bit limited."

"That could work extremely well. The walls need to be fortified against siege equipment, but we could creat choke points very easily. The dirt they are usng to reinforce the alls is coming from a tench outside the walls, this when we divert eh stream, will form a water filled moat. lins of stakes... those wont work they work agains cavalry, but not really agains tiny tiny ifantry. Our best bet is to use ditches and spike traps."

Though the chances of them having anothermage that can cast fireball are pretty low can counterspell it rather easily"
