I have a hat...
I got this awesome one size fits all hat for christmas and surprise surprise it doesn't exactly fit on me head. While can get around my head it exerts alot of pressure along its rim. So much pressure that I have to remove it frequently to let my forehead get some air. Also the pressure has caused alight headaches when wearing it.
What I am wondering is there a way to stretch out the hat or if it would be safe to simply cu the elastic band around the rim.
I really like this hat and would hate to do any significant damage to it.
Must find solution!

Certain African tribes have a head-shrinking process. Unfortunately, you don't actually survive it. And the hat might be much too big afterwards.

Don't put it on your head too deep then. That's what I do with my caps and no they do not fly off.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I've tried stretching it out for hours with something much larger than my head and it remains stretched for say five minutes once I put it back on my head.
My head is rather ginormous (read: had to special order helmet for me while on high school football team, Using the last possible peg on those plastic hat bands) and I have never had a fitted hat that well, fit and really want this hat to work out.

it might be possible to undo part of the seam and add an extra inch of elastic(or a bit more), and resew it without significant damage to the hat. depends on how good you are with a needle and thread thoKrauserKrauser wrote:I got this awesome one size fits all hat for christmas and surprise surprise it doesn't exactly fit on me head. Oh my god, are you the kid featured in that Daily Show episode where they interview the kid whose head is so big that they had to special order his football helmet? That would be fucking awesome.KrauserKrauser wrote:I've tried stretching it out for hours with something much larger than my head and it remains stretched for say five minutes once I put it back on my head.

And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Fairly big, but not retarded-big. He was a big kid in general; I'd hazard to say 6'5" and a lot of pounds, so his gigantic head was in proportion with his gigantic body. They said they didn't make a football helmet with a big enough opening, so the whole town had to pitch together to buy a custom-fit helmet for him so that he could play on the high school team.evilcat4000 wrote:How big was his head ?Oh my god, are you the kid featured in that Daily Show episode where they interview the kid whose head is so big that they had to special order his football helmet? As soon as I saw that, I looked at you avatar and actually laughed out loud... Whn big hats seem funny, you may be a loser
Well, back on topic, I suggest cutting out the seem, adding an inch or two of elastic, and sewing the whole thing back together. Otherwise, just wear it really high up on your head.
